This is the section to talk about your favourite hobby, provided your favourite hobby is games. Whether it's video games, tabletop RPGs or Scrabble, here's your home.

- Console/platform warmongering will be punished. If you want to declare your undying allegiance for one particular multi-million dollar corporation over the other, go to GameFAQs (http://www.gamefaqs.com) or something.

- GameFAQs is also your best bet for walkthroughs and such - feel free to ask for help regarding specific games, but if it's video games, most of the time you'll find what you need there in more detail than anyone here could provide.

- If you're talking about a specific game, give your threads a title that contains the name of the game. Good thread titles are "I just bought Super Mario World," "D&D - I need help tweaking my character" or "Good old SNES" (the last one for general SNES game talk).

- No threads about Jack Thompson!

- The definition of an active thread is extended for this subforum: any thread up to two months old is considered active. (Everywhere else it's one month.) When you make a thread about a specific video game, please check if there isn't already one among the active threads. If there is and your info is still relevant, please post in that thread instead. Any other games, we don't care too much.

Let's Play threads, if any pop up, are an exception and should remain separate from game discussion.

Amendment to this: by default you'll only see threads from the last month, going by the last post's date. To see more, either set a different date in your User CP (go to your User CP and select the "Edit Options" in the Settings and Options section of the menu on the left side of the page. On the page that loads, scroll down to the Thread Display Optionssection and look for "Default Thread Age Cut Off". There is a listbox that lets you select which option you want -- select the one appropriate for you [at least 2 months for threads relevant to this rule] and then save your changes with the button at the bottom of the form page.

Or if you prefer the default setting, you can also just use the Display Options at the bottom when viewing a forum, which isn't permanent.
