I'm thinking it has to do with the current statistics of viewership and visibility plus some form of projection based on how good the content is, aka potential.

According to the site, Dojo has fewer than ten page views daily. On the other hand, your "social metric" is higher than your web recognition, maybe meaning that you have a few loyal viewers. You also have a "value metric" of 3, which might indicate that your content makes up for some things.

Basically, what I'm saying is that given Dojo's utter lack of visibility, they seem to think there's some amount of potential to be had. The idea being that someone would be willing to pay you guys $13k to take your site off your hands, run a few improvements, and reap the benefits.

You guys find some way to advertise, you can reap the benefits, yourselves. That starts a cycle by which someone would be willing to pay more to use your work as a base for their own stuff.
