I've just gotten into Gmod and it seems like there is some good fun to be had tinkering and building with the various different tools and addon capabilities. I surely can't be the only one on NPF who can waste hours at a time building elaborate killing machines with it. Anybody?

What we used to do was Scrap Heap Challenges while playing the Single Player campaign.
One instance I do remember is the Hovercraft level where we constructed individually our own Hovercraft and see which one was the most successful. For mine I used an upside down desk with wheels attatched to the side and boosters at the back. As long as I didn't go too fast it seemed to work just fine.
Haven't played it in years but I remember it being a lot of fun. We used to get more fun out of our devices breaking and spazzing out more so than actually working. I'm sure it's much more robust now.

I mainly Pose Tf2 or other characters in ridiculous poses (http://www.halolz.com/index.php?s=doc+ock+rokc)
but I haven't had anything memorable in months

I used the Stargate mod and spacemod to dick around for a while, but they took up too much space on my laptop HD and my dekstop is too shitty to run gmod.

Oh, Gmod is a hoot. My friends and I love it. Our greatest inventions included G-manhack, which was a g-man ragdoll covered in AI manhacks and a balloon, so he slowly hovered around the map killing things. We also turned the horse statue into an epic rocket-propelled chariot of doom, made a catapult out of a soda machine, laundry basket and some thrusters, and built a car with a railroad track full of spinning blades mounted on the front to mow down zombies.
It's also fun to put things into the skybox, so you'll have a gigantic uber heavy looming in the sky over City 17 or a happy engineer ragdoll showing up on the computer monitors where Kleiner or Breen make their speeches ingame.
Oh, and using the smiley face stickers on everything automatically makes them better.

I strapped rockets to a rock. The flight path was so erratic that it had me and a friend cracking up.
Same for rockets+strider, which flew through the air like a squid.

Haha! It's also fun strapping the rockets to one of the chairs you can sit in from the Vehicles tab. It's especially fun if you set up a Camera so you can see yourself flying around crazily in the rocket-chair.

Recently I got a scripted Pelican vehicle from Halo and welded several sets of various bombs to it, all set to detach when a different keybind was pressed. I could use it to fly around a map dropping missiles and nukes on other players. Only problem is when it gets shot.
