Just recently I found copies of Knights of the Old Repulbic 1 and Planescape Torment (the latter is still being delivered but should be here soon) for dirt cheap.

KotoR1 has been pretty fun so far, the writing's not up to KotoR2's level but what games is? And it's gameplay and levels being balanced and complete is pretty great. Carth is goddamned annoyed though, but Jolee "You got dang Sith git off my lawn!" Bindo makes up for him.

Also a place near me has copies of Master of Orion 3 and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines going for about the same, which should I get first? Leaning towards Bloodlines as there is only 1 copy of that one so it could get picked up soon.

So anyone else had good luck bargain/old game hunting?

Symphony of the Night for 10 €, that's for how much I bought it about six months ago.
I was quite happy to have found it at such a bargain because I missed my chance to play the game when it was initially released. I just remember how I read about it in some gaming mag thinking "Whoa, Super Metroid with swords."

I managed to pick up my copies of Beyond Good & Evil and XIII for real cheap from a resale shop.

The best deal I ever got was probably Suikoden, Vandal Hearts, Monster Rancher, and The Misadventures of Tron Bonne for $2 a pop at a garage sale.

I got God Hand for like five or eight dollars. Best deal ever.

Death Gate cost me 50 cents way back when. Brand new, too, no kidding. (Well, new as in unopened, I guess it had in fact been sitting in a warehouse for a few years.)

Back when I was thinking about buying a PS2, I found Psychonauts for €10 (~$13 at this time) in a store, and after thinking about it for a good ten minutes I bought it and walked out of the store thinking, well, that settles the PS2 decision then.

Oh, and a year or two ago or so big electronics stores had stacks of new copies of Day of the Tentacle and Sam & Max Hit The Road in the bargain bins for €3 apiece. Not sure what the hell was up with that. I guess they must have found a few crates in the back of a warehouse somewhere?

A friend of mine called me up once and asked me if I thought €25 (I think it was 25) was a good deal for not only Rez, but a copy of Rez that came with the Trance Vibrator. I answered in the affirmative and later found out that the Trance Vibrator alone can sell for a good deal more than that, and also that the Trance Vibrator has no practical application whatsoever discounting the very obvious one. It's actually sitting on my shelf right now.

Finally if we're counting consoles, when I bought my 360 the 60 GB models were on sale already, for €200 instead of 240, the usual price back then, and when I took it to the register they took another €20 off for reasons I'm to this day not entirely sure about. So in the end I got a 60 GB 360 for what was then the price of an Arcade one.

(Incidentally don't be alarmed when you convert all that to $, electronics always get a Let's Take The Stupid Europeans' Cash markup here.)

Best gams I got were Championship Manager 00-01, Super League Rugby and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 for a combined total of ?5. Considering I have sunk about 200 hours across these games combined that was pretty fantastic value for money.

I bought a brand new copy of Monster Hunter 3 for 25 Euro, a few days before official release date, in a toy-store.
That's pretty much my biggest bargain I can remember.

Chrono Cross, FF Chronicles, FF Anthology, Legend of Mana, Grandia Xtreme, and Grandia 3 were all found in bins over the years. Almost all of my PC games also came from bins.

Of course, it helps to always be technologically behind. You miss out on the hype, but you also miss out on the original prices.

I work in a game store so I decide what's in the bargain bins. Of course, this also gives me dibs and employee discounts. Not as good as knowing distributors or anything, but it's pretty nice. If anybody needs anything, we can maybe work out a deal under the table. hint nudge stab

Elite Beat Agents for $5! I adore it. I'm stuck on Jumpin' Jack Flash on Cruisin' mode, but I adore it.

Psychonauts for $10! Now one of my favorite games of all time.
