Anyone else have this? Phantom's been dominating the TV with it. It's like Monster Hunter crossed with Starship Troopers with a dose of crazy Mexicans and an evil megacorp and minus the kitties. Also, there's a ton to be had in online play if you can stand some people using incredibly cheap weaponry (which is getting patched soon), rampant cheating (apparently there's a device that allows you to lag at will and essentially teleport), and the Japanese players doing everything they can to avoid being put on a team with anyone who's not Japanese (Goddammit, Japan).

Bonus items include free DLC skins of Albert Wesker and the armor from Monster Hunter, which can make things interesting when you're playing a Femme Fatale.

I grabbed it from work for the night and played it with friends for a few hours. Was very average.

Some of the big akrid thingies are cool but its...its just not that good.

Same could be said for most of the market. It looks better to me than Haze, at least.

I guess when the entire market consists of dog food, it's a bit much to ask for filet mignon, but you can at least hope for hamburger.

No, I meant it like it was pretty boring, there's still plenty of better games I'm enjoying way more out in the 'dog food' market.

The worst part was probably the insane Capcom split-screen. They somehow took what they did with RE5 and gave you less real estate. The controls are sluggish, the vehicles are terrible. They don't even bother disguising the plot as anything beyond literal generic names: Snow Pirates, Jungle Pirates, seriously?!

Really the only attractive thing about the game was the hinting at the giant akrids that gave off a Shadow of the Colossus vibe. They didn't really pull it off, but hey!

Keep in mind I have a generally low opinion of shooters unless I'm holding a light gun where my aim and reflexes factor in.

As indicated, I haven't actually played, but I wasn't aware you could even do split-screen. When our friend came over to play, he dragged his own PS3 along.

Not that I'm trying to excuse racism, but in games where the multiplayer is cooperative, I suspect it'd be better to be on a team where everyone speaks your own language, so you can communicate with each other and work together.

And also so they understand it when you call them a dirty whore for whatever reason.

That's ignoring when they just see an American flag and leave entirely.

I bear no ill will to the Japanese, but really, is that really necessary? Almost nobody uses voice chat, anyway. Phantom ended up hiding behind the game's logo just to manage to get enough players for matches. We're also starting to suspect that not all the Japanese flags belong to Japanese people. It's really that bad.

Well, it might be a ping thing. Haha...ping thing.

In that vein, I quit most multiplayer games if I get randomly connected to Asia, or Australia. Guaranteed 150+ pings everywhere, not playable.
