Ok, so, who has the house in the castle area that is taking up 5 damn building plots for no other reason then to be a massive fucking building?

Agreed with the underlying criticism.
While sticking to Nikose's ground plan to the centimetre would be a far too strict regime, a little bit of moderation of your building would be more than appreciated.

I would not object to people taking two plots and joining them (either via suspended walkway, or even on ground level), but five is excessive.

Someone joined 5?? Or do you mean Mine, Arc's and Krogo's? Mine and Arc's are joined by a neat little bridge and Krogo made his roof huge, so it attaches to mine to. So.. yeah, if it's that one, nothing to see here folks! (Except some 2-plot houses, but ignore that!)

Ok, my laptop went to Dell for some overheating stuff, because seriously, something tells me that Minecraft shouldn't make it so hot AND proceed to slow it down to a crawl unless I let it cool down :/. I hope the furnace and inventory are fixed when my laptop is back :D

If you leave the FPS restriction off you'll have your computer working to put in 300+ frames, which is pretty bad.

Okay, just so you all know. That is not 1 hour taking up 6 Slots. It's Steels with 2 slots linked with a bridge and Arc's with two linked to steels. And them mine linked together with a huge ass upper area. There's room for others to build up and they can even use my wall to save on blocks! So don't freak out guys, it's all good.

I got around 800fps or something while working at the sky ceiling :P. But even after turning the limiter on (which I did most of the time), it got hot and stuff, but it never restarted or really froze, it was just a burning crawling laptop :P. I think it'll be back around next week, and my N900's USB port came off, so I'm stuck with my good ol' N95 for all my internet needs. Damn, I miss my N900, a lot :(

Steel, I love your mine. I found 5 diamond veins today, and crafted two diamond blocks. They are safely stored along with all the gold ore I stumbled across while mining for diamonds.

Oh and I also created a bunch of obsidian when I accidentally tunneled into an underground river, which poured into the lava river that I was mining beside.

Before my laptop went on vacation, I had a great time in the single player survival game, specially after the mobs stopped mauling me because, you know, swords are actually a good idea >_>, and I didn't get lost anymore, because I made a mine around the spawn point :P. I found a lot of coal in it, some iron and a bit of gold, I haven't seen a single diamond ore blocks though, and I went to the bottom of the map where the sparkly red ore blocks lie. Also, I heard some growls in my mine, but no monster or anything was anywhere to see, am I close to a dungeon or is the mine just plain haunted? :ohdear: Damn, I really want to explore whatever you've been working on in SMP, last time I logged in, there was just a smallwooden building. Also, how's the sky ceiling going in the free server?

Been studying redstone programming and doing some SCIENCE!!! on single player survival... I've currently been able to build and/nor/or gates, and gotten an inverter-based double door switch system working.

IE: flip switch, both doors open. Flip switch again, both doors close. PRACTICAL! Doesn't sound like much, but it's not something you can do without shinys.

Theoretically this means I can make an and/nor loop that does something like requires two people to stand on seperate pressure plates on different ends of a room to open a set of steel doors. Of course, everyone seems to think shiny red torches are decorative, and not complicated circut components for making arcanely complicated clockwork devices. You barbarians!

Edit: Sadly, there's a bit of a limit as to where circuts can go, since you can't run wires vertically (ZOMG, though you can, sort of, if you do a across/up workaround like with tracks) nor place them between blocks (Nnngh) so wiring things is a pain in the ass. Not to mention a gate is larger than a person, and a simple half-adder is as wide as a house.

The other issue is that you need to set up switches like repeaters if you want the signal to carry; it seems to die after 13 lines of dust or so.

Well, a not/not will carry the signal, since not not, is well, not not... And thus the signal is unchanged but powered again for another 15 or so lines.

It just means you have to build double inverts every once and awhile to keep running, like you said.

If you make the line long enough the current switching, in time with the server lag, may allow you to create an infinate repeater, which would be nice...

Cause then you could use it for crazy things like making a bunch of doors that close and open in sequence, and recreate that scene from the Phantom Menace.

On the plus side his knowledge of TNT gave us a quarry within quick walking distance of the town, which is making mining for stone for the wall a lot easier. Also, 1/4 of the wall is officially complete!

Game has just completely stopped working for me. I can log into the smp server fine, but then within a minute I suddenly find myself controling my mouse curser rather than my character, and the curser is confined to the game window and I'm unable to interact with anything in any way. I have to CAD in order to refresh or shut down the browser.

This has happened every time I've tried over the last few days. Not that I was having much fun or luck with it before then, so fuck this game and its bullshit, I'm getting my money back.

I've noticed this happening in a localized area around the spawn area, but it seems like everywhere else is normal, or at least it was last I checked.

Actually, are you playing on the downloadable client, or in your browser?
I was having massive problems on the client, whereas my biggest problem on the browser is the occasional lag.

Just as a note; beyond water mountain is a rather large grove of trees, stretching from the mountain itself to the shore line, encompassing a rather large area.

I'm quite proud of my work tending this area, so I'd ask that if you require lumber, feel free to chop down a tree or two. But try to replace what you remove.
Further, please do not light it on fire.

Besides, your projects, my mountain fort and PF's Airship are through the East Gate, Nikose's tower is through the North Docks and Castle Town is through the West Gate.

That Diamond Blocks are not see-through.

See, I got this big building planned, with the exterior covered in nothing but glass. However, Diamond Blocks just look a little bit nicer. It's, unfortunately, not see-through so that completely wrecks the concept. :(

Not like I could probably ever get enough diamond together to even make ONE block, but that's besides the point. I could always seduceconvince Nik to spawn enough in my inventory to create the building.

It'll have to be simply glass then.

Update Changes:

* Fixed save-off
* Ops can now build in the spawn area
* Added /tell command for players to whisper something to another player
* The server logs what admin does what, and broadcasts any admin events to all connected ops
* /list will show a list of connected players to the op who issued it

Also, if we ever have wide-scale griefing, I can make the server stop saving, or better, I can turn the server right off. I'm going to ask Bob if there's a possibility we could set up a login for me on his computer, that I can turn the server back on afterwards.

Edit: He's Bob, the fastest admin alive!

Also: Phoenix and Wiggy tried my server and were able to connect! Yay. I'm curious about how the speeds were? I have great download speed but fucking horrid upload and latency on my network.

I'll log into Bob's server tonight. We'll turn off saving at the time, I'll hand out TNT to everyone, and we'll line Castle Town with enough TNT to level the place.

Then we'll revert back, and move the map into Bob's "Saved maps" for later, and start something new.

Do we like this idea?

WELL I HAVE! Of course, I did it in Singleplayer, and using a cheating apparatus due to the INSANE amount of glass needed, but I have done it! :dance:

A double helix with water and lava. Yes, that is right! And it looks marvellous.

EDIT: I realize it's fairly simple in the end, and due to the liquid dynamics it doesn't do what I had hoped it would do (though it does look more like a strand of DNA from afar in the current state), but it's something I'm proud of. :dance:

This is worse then the fires, you can't just fix this

My eventual dream for this game would be to separate us into two or three kingdoms and after a while of living in secret, building our fortresses, maybe forming some trade with the other kingdoms, we end up going to war over resources and such.

This would of course have to take place after Notch patches in enemy mob so we could find the materials for TNT and other weapons of destruction.

Yep, that's New Castletown. The outer edge covers an 85x85 area. Once the mountain is cleared down, there's space for 36 (6x6 grid) buildings (7x7 walls, so there's 5x5 room inside each) with 5-wide roads between the buildings and along the wall.

Pity I can't help because since the update I haven't been able to play either Single or Multi-player Minecraft :( In either mode, my fps crawls at 1 or 2 whenever I move even with the fog set to the smallest possible area. I've tried re-installing the game and cleaning up/defragging my computer, but nothing seems to work.

I say that we build the Second Temple of Bob upon the mountains in these Green Lands we now spawn in, with a Great Bridge spanning across the frozen waters to and from our settlement.

So, if there's any reason to get Bobcraft (wait, are we Bobcraft? 'Cause I remember that WoW server...) working again:

The Seecret Friday part ended up being extremely tiny this time around, but that�s because I made sure to add this:

+ Added server-side inventory
+ Made the server save player locations when they leave the server
+ Made chests work in SMP
+ Made signs work in SMP
+ Made furnaces work in SMP
+ Added monsters=false to server.properties. You can turn it on for experimental monsters, but you can�t hurt them directly yet. (Fire works, though!)
