And just like Silent Hill Shattered Memories, I'm kinda disappointed that it's not just a simple graphical update. I'll wait and see what comes of it, but I'm upset that they're messin' with a classic.

And as both a James Bond fan and a gamer... what the crap, Nintendo? Daniel Craig was not Bond in Goldeneye, Pierce Brosnan was.

Yeah, and what's up with Daniel Craig being in Casino Royale? It's supposed to be that other guy.

EdIT: I see this as being Activision and Eurocom's doing, not Nintendo. Overall, don't care who plays 007, what with the change of face being an expectation of the series now.

Who, Peter Sellers?

Maybe they'll have other Bonds unlockable if you do stuff. I think the original was going to have that but they had to take it out.

I prefer to think James Bond is like the Dread Pirate Roberts. It's the name that counts.

Obviously, Moneypenny has been allowed to age gracefully, so it's probably that every Bond gets grabbed off the street, brainwashed into a debonair secret agent, and then replaced when he's killed between movies.

Didn't Rare do the original one? This will probably have little to do with it except like the plot of Goldeneye, I guess, and there is also FPS Deathmatches.

Not sure why everyone is in love with GoldenEye. It's horribly outdated. Yes, it was amazing at the time, but what with Turok: Dinosaur Hunter adapting the control scheme, perfectly making it AMAZING (analog stick as your aiming device? HOLY SHIT I'm pretty sure Halo and it's ilk would never have existed if we were still using a crosspad as the aiming device for consoles), and all the other advances having been made in FPS control and so on, I don't see why GoldenEye makes everybody get all wet and lathered. Hell, I've played several competent James Bond FPSes since GoldenEye, all of them fun.

I'm sure this game will be fun but the use of the GoldenEye title specifically is just a tactic to get you to buy it, to identify it with the original's success and love.

EDIT: WTF Daniel Craig replaces Pierce Brosnan? Is that shit even legal? That's like sticking Russell Crowe into a video game remake of a video game adaptation of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves or Christian Bale into a remake of Batman Returns. You can see where these hypothetical situations are going.

ANOTHER EDIT: And a Wii-only release? lolololol

As the proper Casino Royale teaches us their are at least 6 James Bonds running around at any one point.

Nevermind that there's probably an entire separate division at M16 consisting of his rounded-up progeny

God bless Cracked.com and insane fan theories. (http://http://www.cracked.com/article/18367_6-insane-fan-theories-that-actually-make-great-movies-better/)

There has been a theory among fans that there is no one single James Bond, but that "James Bond" is a codename passed on from one agent to the next as each retires (just as the titles of M and Q pinball from agent to agent). The theory explains the agelessness of Bond--note that Daniel Craig's Bond became 11 years younger whereas Judi Dench's M aged by four years.

This also explains how James Bond's personality changes dramatically from actor to actor. For example, in one film you have Timothy Dalton's Bond burning a man alive (around the 9:00 mark). Pop in another DVD and you see Roger Moore's Bond is doddering around in a clown costume.

The more you look into it, the more it makes sense. George Lazenby's Bond had his wife murdered in the last film he appeared in, so fans could assume that his 007 retired out of grief. Timothy Dalton's Bond went rogue and was kicked out of MI6. Pierce Brosnan's final outing ended with Bond being abandoned by British intelligence. Next movie, there's a new Bond in the tuxedo and the old one is presumably on a beach somewhere collecting a government pension.

Hell, even the guy who directed Die Another Day believed this theory. Wait, that was the Bond movie with the invisible car, right? Fuck that guy.

The director of Die Another Day was also once arrested for propositioning a police officer, while cross-dressed and while a successful film director who din't need the money.
Also he directed XXX2.
Like I'm just saying he's a crazy fucker.

Goddammit, god-fucking-damn-it.
I thought finally there'll be GoldenEye on VC. It's not quite Perfect Dark, but it's a cool game. What do I see here?
Requested change of thread title: Yet another game trying to cash in on GoldenEye 64's cult status.
