...or, "So I've Been Playing on my Wii more often and also I have access to high-speed internet now so I been gamin'".

I actually got my first two not-New Super Mario Brothers Wii games weeks and weeks ago, but it's only recently that I've had time to appreciate them properly (it's the end of the quarter for me now--in fact, I'm writing this just after finishing my English 101 final). So I haven't been playing Okami and No More Heroes for very long, but I love them both, for more or less opposite reasons. In Okami I get to make a ruined world bloom--I like feeding animals for praise; really, it's just adorable. Also fun: showing imps who's the boss of them with the Paintbrush.

In No More Heroes, however, I cackle gleefully as I run over pedestrians with my motorcycle. (I think they get better, but tee bee aitch, it's not like I go back and check.) I may very well be a horrible human being. Turns out it's a lot of fun to use a beam katana to solve all your problems. Also: I think I'd like to see a spinoff featuring Shinobu--I almost felt bad kicking her ass. (Destroyman, not so much. Douchewhistle.) I also really wanted to fight Letz whatsisbutt and his giant brain thingy. Oh well. I'll just have to settle for badassing all over absolutely everything else in the game also he has a kitty cat that is sooooo cute you guys dawwww.

Also! Portal. I bought it years ago, but I couldn't actually play it on account of my shit-tastic 56k connection, but now I have it on my laptop and it is ever such fun (even though I'm stuck at the moment).

So, in order to give this thread an actual subject, now that I'm playing these, do you all have any stories you want to tell about them? Anything you'd recommend me checking out/trying in these games? Any parts you thought were particularly awesome/awful/somehow notable?

Probably all stuff you already found out or missed but make sure you go to the gym after every story mission in No More Heroes as soon as it becomes available. Only buy the clothes you really like or you'll end up grinding until kingdom come, and if you talk to Lovikov the locations of buried cash and Lovikov balls will be marked on the map (with really easy-to-miss orange dots but all in all it's not terribly difficult to follow the trail). The balls also give off a distinct sound when you're nearby. And finally when you buy a new beam katana, walk out, then walk right back in and you'll find upgrade modules on sale for the one you just bought. You're gonna want these no matter the price.
