Do you want to show NPF that you are the obvious choice for Space Emperor? Put your money where your mouth is as you face off against 5 others for control of your local galaxy.

For your consideration, I have...

This huge 4X strategy game is a little out of the ordinary. Instead of joining your friends for play sessions at the same time, attempting to take over the galaxy in one complete burst, Neptune’s Pride is designed to be played over a period of weeks, as everyone battles for control over every star available.

Its exceptionally slow pace encourages careful planning, strategising away from the computer screen, and striking up deals with opposing players outside of the game itself. There are so many options to consider.

That’s why Neptune’s Pride was our webgame of the year for 2010. For a sense of quite how involved this game is, try reading the diary of our one-month battle with Rock, Paper, Shotgun (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/238419/blog/the-one-month-war-for-neptunes-pride-part-1/?site=pcg).

This allows a game to be going on with only the barest minimum of involvement daily, but with long payoffs later.

However, I'm going to need to pay a little fee so you guys can play for free. I'm willing to do that, but I need 5 people to be willing to commit to 10-15 minutes daily or so for about a month. (If response is strong enough, it can be bumped up to 11 other people.)

Seeing as both NPFRisk and NPFTwilight Imperium have both slowed to a crawl/completely stopped for now I would totally be up for another NPF strategy game session.

You can count me most definately in. The only time I would be unable to play would be for around 5 days straight from June 8th to the 12th, as I'm away at a festival that weekend.

Briefly hijacking this thread for a service announcement:

I am, in fact, slowly gearing up to continuing the NPFRisk game. Can't give any solid dates, but it's not dead.
We're slowly taking it off the respirator, as it were.

Nah it's cool, it's cool. I know I've probably given you some shit about taking so long but it's not like I'm going anywhere and I'm always on npf anyway so whenever it comes back to life is fine. It's mostly just the formallity of me cleaning up Sages forces now anyway.

And at least it got started, unlike NPFCivilisation 4 which died after about 2 turns. That was a shambles.

Ugh, yeah. Civ 4 went BADLY. I still don't know whose turn we ended off on, but it was probably mostly a victim of poor planning because all it took to end the thing was a single misplaced e-mail.

Neptune's Pride seems much more robust due to the fact that it's, uh, online.

I'd be interested in this, I think. Just gotta check out the tutorial and everything.

Just had a read of the tutorial and signed up an account. Game seems easy enough to grasp and I can already sense the deeper tactical options. Consider me VERY interested.

Question without having read anything about it: Turn-based, Simultaneous Execution, I guess? (Like how I handled the turns and rounds in my Risk LP. (This thread has come full circle. I'm good...))

More like "real-time, things have massive timescales."

Start your research on Weapons Lvl 2 and they'll be done in 36 hours. But don't worry, your fleet will hit the frontlines in a mere 4 hours, so you won't have to stay away for long.

As a veteran of sorts to this type of multiplayer LP, I would like to throw myself into this. Although, around exam periods I will not be able to make timely orders.
