I'm enjoying it so far. Just completed World 4. My god, it's full of minecarts.

And by complete, I mean all levels are beaten. Not KONG complete, or puzzle complete.

The game is gorgeous. The layered paths really put the pseudo-2D to work.

Like in NSMBW, I flatly refuse to use the Super Guide... but, also like its retro-predecessor, you get extra lives like candy, and WILL NEED THEM.

The only thing that rubs me wrong is that Diddy has been reduced to powerup. Basically, you get a sustained roll attack, a hoverjump, and two more hearts. Lose the two hearts, lose Diddy.

Some time early on, the difficulty ramped up and hasn't leveled off yet.

So, it's awesome, and I recommend it.

You gotta get them letters, man. First you get the letters, then you get the orbs, then you get the bananas. So many bananas. A kingdom of bananas!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH SPIDERS

This game is also brutal in two-player mode. Your lives will disappear immediately and you also die more easily. Also, some stuff's just not designed for two players, like, well, the mine carts...

But some stuff works more easily with two players, like any time you need to balance platforms. It's pretty much only those times that it's easier, though... Kinda annoying if you bought the game looking forward to multiplayer good times only to find that a partner is more of a liability than even in New Super Mario Bros Wii.
