Man, talk about a non-casual RPG...
So, i got my hands on the new Witcher 2, and so far i'm really loving it. I know that any of you looking into it right now already know that many are reporting glitches and bugs in the game regarding it's heavy Hardware specs requirements, so let me put you ate ease right now and say... yeah, it requires a Beefy machine to get this bad boy going, but even on lower setting it looks great.
At first i was getting 10-18 FPS out of the game, then i tweeked the configs a bit and now i'm locked on 30+ FPS and the game still looks and plays great.
Story is simple (not convoluted so far) and enjoyable, voice actors are doing a fine job, characters look quite likable so far and feel real, the lore here also feels solid, the game really does manage to make you feel like you are inside of a story in a magical world and not in a corridor in a game (although, even with a Lot of S and L, most maps are just snaked corridors, but that is quite normal...)
Now, on the difficulty... i'm not exagerating. The game WILL kill you, you will be beaten to a pulp, you will get fucked up BAD and even take quite a few one shots... i learned that when i died 5 times IN A ROW during the TUTORIAL because i was still managing to get the timing of my rolls and blocks... and that's only cause i already have somewhat of a notion of that stuff so i catch on quickly. and i was playing on EASY!
Then things relax a bit and you get to be badass quickly enough to make it enjoyable. Lo'and behold in this game your character is NOT a douche (praised be the lord!) sure, he looks like hell, but Geralt feels really human and nuanced , someone who would actually prefer to step away from the battlefield if he could... i like that. I don't know if this will be consistent during the game, but so far so good!
Also, not to get into detail, but about the sexual content let me just say that early on you get Geralt waking up with his pants on, right next to the best rendered Ass i've ever seen in a game
dat ass indeed.
And then some nipple action...
Guess that what i'm saying is that i found myself admiring the Rendering quality and graphical texture of the Naked Red Haired woman you bang in the game just as much as i was to the immersible backgrounds the game displays on the horizon.
Also, as to difficulty... you HAVE to play using the Manual. This game will not teach you shit, it will not provide you with information. It's ALL in the manual... read it or be left behind scratching your head.
At some point i changed my stance from Combat to exploration and found myself running away from guards cause i didn't knew how to change it back and Geralt won't swing his sword on Exploration mode.
Also, i'll be damn if i know what is the Fire spell and what is the eletric trap spell. the game will NOT tell you, read it in the manual and learn it. Cause the all sound like Onomatopoeias to me, so it's hard to know when i have to cast a "Zorp" blast and when i need a good "Voxh" shield, cause i didn't read the damn manual before playing.
Add that to all the crafting and alchemy you can do in the game, all the potions, traps, weapons and armors you can craft and then improve with magical effects... and... yeah.... read the manual.
Now let me give you some screenshot goodness from my play session. Mind you i'm not using the Super Graphical quality, so the game can look at least 40% better than this and then melt my pc
