Mine was from the game Mob Rule that removed borrowing limit for loans (http://www.ign.com/cheats/games/mob-rule-pc-12030). The cheat itself isn't why I loved it

see the problem was they were still loans which you had to pay back. That is unless you took out so much money that your interest inverted and the bank owed you money every month

.Wampa..Stompa. The debug menu in Shadows of the Empire allowed for all sorts of crazy things, like gravity manipulation, wall clipping, instant jetpacks, and general graphics screwiness.

That, or Y-X-B-B-A-L-L-Down-Up. Nothing quite beats dicking around in a Hydra in GTA San Andreas.

a-b-b-a-c-a-bI don't remember but rrrrgh I know I used to know that.

Man, google sometimes makes the world a boring place.

As for favorite cheat codes, I guess "gunsgunsgunsgunsgunsgunsgunsgunsgunsguns" is the only thing that comes to mind.

A quick check of gamefaqs to make sure I'm right says that nope, it's ABBACAB.

Perhaps ABACABB is a different game.

Good ol' DK Mode.

I can't remember how that was unlocked, but the worst was Invincibility. Facility, 00Agent, 1min 10secs or something. Not only was it a manic speed run that required extremely high skill, but it was entirely dependant on Dr. Doak spawning in the right place, and he had ~8 possible spots.

The Doom cheatcode.

I've got two actually and both from the same game, Neverwinter Nights (first one).

You needed to engage DebugMode 1 and than type in these two codes to get the effect.

dm_cowsfromhell> cows come jumping out of hell

dm_mylittlepony> ride around on a stick pony or look like you are.

dm_cowsfromhell> cows come jumping out of hell

dm_mylittlepony> ride around on a stick pony or look like you are.

These were some of the BEST codes.

I also loved using the gameshark on Final Fantasy Tactics (pointless disclaimer: after having beaten it several times, including a few ridiculous challenges) to make assassins for my team (and finding, unfortunately, that my favorite one corrupted the game). Man, I love assassins. Love them so very much.

I know I used to enjoy more, but most of them would just be more parroting the stuff already laid out above, or I can't remember.

Oh! I remember one now! In Dungeons and Dragons*, I loved using the "Twelve Step Immortality Program: How to Become Better than the Tarrasque"**, as well as discovering the omnificer and Pun-Pun, and save-crystals, and making me a sandwhich (to play as, not to eat).

For my wife: unlimited money (for many games, including Sims, Sim City, and Neverwinter Nights). She likes it 'cause it helps you eliminate boring stuff to get the money (ex: fetch-stuff, return to town, dump, repeat) and get right to the fun stuff (ex: using limitless money to go shopping! <... I am truly a fortunate man that she enjoys shopping in games more than real life>) - she says "Who plays games for boring stuff to get money: that's what we have real life for!"

*I mean the table top, not a video or computer game
**My own creation

game where I was most thankful for money code was Dragon Age, it was really stingy with the money and items cost something like 4 times what you could sell them for

Krylo

It's possible to, without cheating, have, literally, an unending supply of money in DA.

Requires a little traveling, but the crux of it is this: If you buy the ingredients at the cheapest stores for them, you can sell crafted greater lyrium potions at a tidy profit.

Edit: Which, I guess, if you know that, just makes the money cheat less a cheat and more a time saver.

Edit 2: You can also use this to get infinite experience thanks to the donation boxes for your armies (you get xps for donating).

Also: ;;klapaucius. You know what this reminds me of? While randomly tapping buttons waiting for Sonic 3D Blast to get past the opening credits, I unlocked the stage select code. I had no idea what buttons I pressed, but I mashed buttons every time I played Sonic 3D Blast after that.

Too bad no one knew the 'stuff it in the dryer' trick back then. Then again, maybe they already did. Crapload of rare candies, people! Worked with a washer too if you were willing to wrap it in plastic first. The washer was probably a better bet as it jolted around a lot more.

Some cheats too huh? Well, there was a game I had fun with. The last boss cheat from Boogerman. I never liked fighting bosses back then because they were too hard for me, but if I played it now I would most likely beat it no problem.

Another good one... hmm... would have to be the stuff for the first and second Half-Life games. Granted they aren't as old as most that have been mentioned, but still fun in their own ways. Especially getting the gravity gun in the very start of the second game and smacking combine around with random objects.

Not quite cheat codes, but figuring out and actually executing the difficult special moves in the Final Fight games. Also, the unlock codes for different characters in the Mortal Kombat games and also executing their fatalities.

Oh, a wise guy, eh?

Such a great game. Within a great game.

I guess I am not very creative. The only cheat codes that are really iconic to me are the Konami Code (mostly from my love of Contra) and the various codes for DOOM/DOOM II.

I have a tendency to play Half-Life games with the console command ones on, but they are hardly creative or secret.

e: I suppose I abused the money thing in SimCity, but, unless I was trying to destroy my city, only at the beginning when I had nothing built yet.

"How do you turn this thing on" summons a car that shoots bullets by opening its doors repeatedly.

The Age of games had some fun ones. I like OHCanada from Mythology which summoned a flying bear that shot lasers while wearing a Canadian flag as a cape.

A flying bear with a Canadian flag as a cape with MONKEYS following him around. I can't remember the one that summoned hippos that left a rainbow trail.

Oh and also from Age of Empires series: E=mc2 in the first game.

"WUV WOO", according to the internet. I did so love that bear. Or just making a custom map where I destroyed a society using that floating doom god (Osiris?).
