Alright got this almost immediately after I realized it came out and dedicated my day to beating it and have spent a day in contemplation to figure what I thought of it.

Now when I got to you the first time it was about Dead Money, which I said was incredibly linear, restrictive, difficult, nonconventional, with a good storyline and good companions.

Second was Honest Hearts which was more exploratory, with forgettable companions, a reasonably interesting story and strange little details.

Now we got Old World Blues. Where we take a step into the Big MT(which people refer to as Empty if they are outside and Mountain if they live there) and discover some of the old wonders of technology and a few more allusions to the final DLC. The story is...quirky. When I spoke of Dead Money I liked how engaging it was, and for Honest Hearts it was fairly intelligent with ties to Abrahamic religious ideas. This one is just odd.

To give you an idea, within the first few seconds you wake up in a hospital gown and learn that your heart, your spine, and your brain have been removed. And that while they have your spine and heart in nearby jars, your brain is missing. Then are treated by a man who screams threats at the group that told you about(and committed) your sudden surgeries. These threats include how he is going to take all the science in Big MT with his army of Roboscorpions.

This is exactly the kind of story you get with this, and really it is just great if a bit odd.

Unlike Dead Money this is relatively nonrestrictive, with all of the Big MT open to you once you get an upgrade to the signature weapon of the game. There are new weapons for all disciplines, from a sonic energy weapon that can cause different critical effects with a different noise configuration, a machine gun that uses .357 magnum(and when upgraded .44) bullets and the brain of a dog, a special alloyed power fist or glove, or a satellite radio antenna or proton axes.

There is also a few new armors, but only one really caught my eye, because it has a personality and said that I am its, "Best friend forever."

This DLC has a hell of a lot of personality and quirkiness and is worth the buy without a doubt. A few warnings though, if you are a gun user the one you get here isn't quite going to make the grade for the high armor opponents, you'll want to bring something that you can craft ammunition for out of .44 or .357 rounds. Or uses those rounds. Or bring a shit ton of ammo. While there are enemies that use guns you'll find more random ammo of those two types than any other. If you are anyone else you'll be fine, but I started running out of ammo for my primaries after my third nighstalker assault.

Other than that take it on! I look forward to that final installment.
