View Full Version : Nexon security breach?

So I logged in to my Dungeon Fighter account after a couple months of inactivity today and found all of my avatar items (paid for) missing. After a bit of research, all I've been able to find is dozens of threads and tons of user complaints on the Nexon technical support forum (and several metric tons more around the internet) suggesting that there was a big security breach recently and a bunch of people have lost their accounts/lost items/had information stolen.

Anyone know anything about this? Did Nexon just decide to like, not tell anyone? All I'm seeing around the internet is hearsay, but the fact that Nexon seems to have completely ignored the situation for weeks in spite of all the shit flying around is a bit unsettling.

Anyway, mainly I just wanna let anyone who has an inactive Nexon account know, so they can mind their own security. I'd sure like to know if anyone's heard anything official about this though.

Edit: Also found some troubling information suggesting that none of Nexon's login information is encrypted. That's exciting. I'm glad I only ever sent these guys money through paypal.

I like how despite the fact that I only created a Nexon account and never actually got around to downloading a game I still have to worry about shit with them!

It seems like this particular thief or thieves are more interested in getting cash-only items than personal info, at least.
