Here it be. (http://www.steamgifts.com/)
Steamgifts is a website that allows people to enter and create giveaways for games that are on steam. It works that you get points every time a giveaway is created and you use the points to enter giveaways with a point to dollar 1 to 1 ratio.
To generate an invite you need to spend a lot of these points, and since I am on a losing streak I decided to invite some people. Some notes...
-You need a steam account with at least 50 dollars worth of games on it.
-I am gonna say when I post the invite codes in this first post (in the format of NEXT CODE AT: *time*) and then the code will show up in a new post. I will edit it when it is taken
-If you get the code, all I ask in return is rep, cause for some reason I think the green bars are worth a damn.
-Other people on steamgifts feel free to post invites here too
-If we get enough people on steamgifts we can maybe do private gift raffles.
NEXT INVITE CODE AT: Waiting for points.

I acquired an account a few months ago.
The site is pointless, in my opinion. Absolute tons of people sign on for each giveaway, even for stuff like Portal which you'd think everyone on Steam would own by now (especially considering the times when VALVE make it a free download). When you've got over 1000 people applying to each giveaway, the chances of winning are too low to bother with.

I like it because you've got nothing to lose by entering stuff.
And it gives you a nice opportunity for altruism.

That being the case you must have accumulated major points by now.
Dump them into some entry codes if you don't feel like making use of them.

So, is this run by Valve, or what?
Since I'm not giving my steam login info to some random people.

You sign in though steam, you are giving your info back to Valve anyway, it redirects you to Steampowered, and you sign in using that.
right from the login page you are sent to...
By signing in through Steam, www.steamgifts.com will be able to identify you within the Steam Community and retrieve your public gameplay information (such as stats and achievements).
Steam will not reveal your username or password to this site, rather a unique numeric identifier will be shared. You should never enter your Steam login credentials into a third party website!

How do you get an invite code?
Ramary
09-01-2011, 04:01 PM
I spend points to make one instead of entering giveaways. Ill post another one once i get the points for it.

That's pretty much the only thing I was worried about. I'll try a code as soon as one comes as the one you posted has been already used.

SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT REPING ME, I WILL DIE WITHOUT GREEN BARS.
But in all seriousness, that code is still not taken. Partly cause I removed THE WRONG ONE.
I blame aka.
Also since I entered a Deus Ex:HR giveaway, I have no points for invites, at least not for a bit, last ones for awhile.

So, is this part about actually winning games a myth or just a very patience-intensive process?

It is like Santa Claus, you got to believe reaaaaaaaaal hard that the chance of winning a game is real.
I seen people win 3 games with 15 total entries.
