Since they released the last DLC for Fallout: (Lonesome Road, but I recommend you get Gun Runner's Arsenal too as it has a silenced Anti-Material Rifle.:wtf:) I have finally got my vault-suit on and have been really playing the hell out of it. I got about 60 hours going into this current file, and am FINALLY about to beat the game. I have beaten Dead Money, Honest Hearts, and Old World Blues. Still gotta go do Lonesome Road. I am going to go with the Wild Card ending when I finish the last bit of DLC.

I finally picked up Mass Effect, and have gotten to the part where Shepard gets control of the Normandy and the game really opens up. Late to the party I know. Probably gonna save getting into the game full tilt until I have beaten Fallout NV to my satisfaction.

Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World are most excellent, and despite being something you can beat in a(n) (un)productive day are aces.

BATMAN ARKHAM CITY. I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHY I AM TYPING IN ALL CAPS, BUT HEY WHATEVER MAN. IT'S BATMAN. ALSO, CATWOMAN IS FUN TO PLAY AS.

Wild Arms 2 and Breath of Fire 4 are filling my jRPG cravings currently.

Also, playing through Warcraft 3 again. Have gotten through the base game, time to tackle the expansion.

TripleA when possible

WoW

Gears 3

GW sometimes still

I, too, have been re-playing WC3.

MVC3, but I am quite horrible at it (I keep wanting to go back to BlazBlue/Guilty Gear)

I stupidly am getting impatient for STO to go free to play.

I might give STO a go when it's f2p too. At the very least to see how they did the space bits.

Lately I've been clocking a good number of hours on Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Also been dabbing in Batman: Arkham Asylum to refresh my memory for when Arkham City launches on PC next month.

Grabbed Forza Motorsport 4 as well. I really enjoyed Forza 3, and I've heard good things.

In a week I'll be playing Battlefield 3.

Playing Tropico 4. It's a pretty fun SimCity-esque game.

Beat Dark Souls. Strong contender for my Game of the Year.

Beat Space Channel 5 Part 2, which is a really cheesy, fun rhythm game that lets you team up with Space Michael Jackson.

Played some Guardian Heroes. Pretty okay brawler, but a lot of pointless elements.

Played as much of Ar Tonelico Qoga as I could. One of the three worst jRPGs on modern consoles.

Given that I haven't ever finished the game even once, it's just a normal run with theme naming, more or less.

That is neither http://i696.photobucket.com/albums/vv324/immortalpictures/hazel_and_cha_cha_by_brodieman1000.jpg, but just as unsettling.

City of Heroes got boring fast, just like when it wasn't free. I finished Elastomania after about fifteen years. Well, I've still got five skipped levels including the final one, but fuck them. I won Magic the Gathering earlier today with a +5 hat of cheating called Retroactive Discard through Time Elemental and Hypnotic Armada. So I guess right now I'm not playing a damn thing.

Currently going through Deus Ex: Human Revolutions. Just picked up the DLC as well. Probably going to finish the main game first, before I tackle that. I'm already past the point where it's supposed to fit in anyway.

Also playing Kerbal Space Program, and getting stupidly impatient for the next update. IT'S GOING TO GET A MOON! =D

Dawn of War 2 has been occupying lots of my time recently. I'm not great with the ebb and flow of the metagame right now, but I'm trying to work on my Tyranid play.

My main focus has admittedly been DoW2 The Last Stand, though. I got a Farseer up to level 14, and a Hive Tyrant to around level 10, if I remember correctly... but they're releasing the Tau Commander as DLC tomorrow (http://pc.ign.com/articles/120/1200466p1.html) (if IGN is to be believed), and once he drops I'm not playing anybody else.

So I got bored yesterday and started looking through my pc collection for something to play, found out I have Thief 2; The Metal Age and for some reason I've never tried it. I probably bought it cheap as part of a collection. Never played any Thief game before but it's pretty good, though I'm doing pretty terrible. Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies. It's actually kind of neat, even though there are so very many quests and so much I can make with alchemy that I invariably spend like one-tenth of my playing time actually forwarding the plot and the rest either out hunting monsters for alchemizable goods, searching for spawn spots for alchemizables, or at the alchemy pot making stuff.

Also, whoever actually wrote or translated or whatever the text in this game had a huge hard-on for puns and wordplay and tossing in recognizably British bits of culture and slang and all. It's excellently written, and I like that. I really like that.

Binding of Isaac.

Dear lord. Binding of Isaac.

No idea how to describe this game, but it is awesome. Maybe this trailer will help!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDFnMfJnI7s

...okay it doesn't

It is like this odd blend of Zelda, Smash TV, and a Rogue-like, combined with absolutely fucked up visuals and subject matter and made by the same batshit insane bastards behind Super Meat Boy (in other words, HARRRDDDD. although not as hard as SMB itself). It got me hooked, although you can't save or anything during a play though (which would take no more then one hour usually, shorter if you die) so there is a bit of a time investment per session. But it is one of the BEST 5 bucks I have spent.

Also trying to make a mass effect 3 save ready starting with ME1. Even if ME3 sucks, and I have reason to believe it will, I would like at the very least to see the end.

On the second chapter of Trails in The Sky. (http://www.siliconera.com/2011/10/20/falcoms-president-on-localizing-the-legend-of-heroes-trails-in-the-sky-second-chapter/)

It's going to take a while. From what I've checked, the plot ends after the second game and then the third is just a mission pack sequel. Also, after the Trails in the Sky trilogy, there's Zero No Kiseki and Ao No Kiseki, too - Trails in the Blue series - if Xseed tries to bring the whole series outside of Japan, dang, PSP will still be getting games in 2013.

Started playing my DS Lite again; picked up my copy of SoulSilver after seriously like a year. Apparently I never beat the Elite Four on account of having a craptastic team (My starter and Lugia are the only ones above 40. Basically, up until this point my Feralgator finished off every Gym Leader by himself because I hate leveling, so he's at Level 55 and everyone else is in their 20's or 30's except Lugia. The last time I tried to take on the Elite Four, the Feralgator and Lugia managed to kill EVERYTHING by themselves except for Lance's last Dragon, and by that time I had used all my Revives and so we lost with his freakin' Charizard having only three HP.) So now I'm stuck trampling about Victory Road trying to get my other Pokes into at least the mid 40's.

I've also picked Okami Den back up. I'm kind of on the fence about this one: It started out really good, if a bit too easy, but now we've got giant baby space-whale magnet-gods hanging out in moon-spaceships and ancient Japanese diesel-powered front-loaders working on dig sites and people constantly calling me "Dude" and asking me "what's the haps" in ancient Japan. I mean, I'm cool with suspending disbelief for the moon-people and SUDDENLY ALIEN SPACESHIPS and blonde French guys who are actually from SPAAAACE in the first Okami, because the first Okami was fantastic, but ancient Japanese frontloaders and SPACE WHALES THAT ARE REALLY THE GODS OF MAGNETS (granted, they're supposed to represent the Yin/Yang fish, I think, which I GUESS you could apply to magnets, but still) is pushing it a bit.

Also Kurow is annoying as hell.

Long story short, they all play like shit because apparently Rockstar cannot into PC ports. GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas don't work right with control pads (that's right, ports of console games can't work with a console controller) and GTA4 has garbage frame rate despite my system apparently far exceeding the recommended requirements and no matter how low I turn the settings down it doesn't make a difference.

I've got max level characters on both Starfleet and KDF sides and there's at least a handful of us that might be getting together to make a NPFleet when F2P hits. The downside is that they're raising the unlock level for KDF to 25 to really drive home how much Cryptic hates Klingons, but the Defiant-class USS Garamonde is armed and ready to assist any new characters should they need it.

Remember how I said I was playing Trails in the Sky?

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to do that anymore. Game just characterized my entire party as homophobic assholes with nothing in the scene to frame that as a bad thing.

IE Persona 4 and Yosuke.

Kim

If you'd like to tell me a scene exists in Trails of the Sky where blondie threatens to pound them into a pulp if they keep this shit up, perhaps I'll consider continuing to play it.

EDIT: I'm not even arguing that Persona 4 isn't problematic. It's problematic as fuck.

And boy-oh-fucking-boy finding a homophobic scene homophobic sure is EXTREME.

I'm just sick and fucking tired of every time a game is offensive and someone finds it offensive, people have to jump in with, "Well, just because the characters are offensive doesn't mean the game is!" or "There are worse games out there!" or "Well, I didn't find it offensive!" You didn't find it offensive? Good for you. I did. I bugged me. It caught me off-guard and made me feel like shit for the rest of the day. I'm not telling you to be offended by it. I'm expressing my totally justified frustration with it. So can people please stop leaping to defend every fucking thing that people find offensive, because I'm getting sick and fucking tired of this shit.

Basically, I was going to say that I didn't react the way you did but I see some justification for the outrage. Also that you probably should just go ahead and finish the game because it really is a good game, and you shouldn't let the one bad thing ruin the whole game for you. You have to remember that the main characters are teenagers.

The "Flying Dutchman" and "Flying Dutchboy" (who, incidentally, doesn't fly, but runs really, really fast.).

This is going to be brilliant or horrible.
Possibly horribly brilliant even!

Also finally gave in and got it on the PS3 today, since it kept freezing on the fucking character creation screen on my laptop.

Now, I got in a couple of hours of successful playtime, enough to fight Scarecrow with Batwoman on my hero, decide I like the game, and pick up the Lantern DLC so I could make the League, the Legion, and Braniac alike tremble before my might, but since then it's been... a bitch. Kicking me and disconnecting a lot. Allegedly, that's because of all the new users since it went free to play, so hopefully that'll die down. It's definitely a lot of fun though, and in the short period of time I was able to use my Lantern, I enjoyed the everloving hell out of it.

Name: Blue Perigee

he is awesome and i love him.

Villain
Mentor: Luthor

I'm finding Superspeed to be sort of crazy. Not in a bad way, but in a holy shit what is it gonna be like when i unlock the speed force trait jesus fuck look at this way.

Gave DCU a spin and it's pretty great so far, when it's not lagging like a mother fucker that is. I'm on a PvP server (dunno if it has a name, I just picked the PvP button instead of the PvE one) and I've ran into a few villains close to my level, and 70% of the time it looks like they are standing there doing nothing while damage numbers fly off me and my health bar drains. Also at one point a villain league decided to camp outside the police station in Metropolis, and while the fighting looked cool, as soon as I stepped into the action I was super molested by stun locks and knockbacks that looked like I was teleporting (because of lag). The worst I've seen it though was when I joined a Legacy PvP match, and I would see copies of allies and enemies kneeling on the ground in a downed state. By the end of the match there was probably a dozen lag clones.

Well anyway enough with that. I've also been playing The Binding of Isaac, which is pretty fantastic. Plenty of replayability to it too, which is always a plus.

Also, inMomentum (http://store.steampowered.com/app/110400/), a first person parkour-esque game. I say parkour-esque because you're mostly doing wall and air jumps, and rocket-boosting yourself to increase your speed and lower your time. It has a dozen or so levels in all and two singleplayer modes that are essentially the same with a tiny difference. Standard Time Trial where you rush from checkpoint gate to checkpoint gate as fast as possible. The gates are fairly spaced out, so you're given quite a bit of freedom on how you get from A to B. Sphere Hunt on the other hand has you collecting glowing sphere's in a pre-set path between each checkpoint gate while still trying to get the best time. There's also multiplayer where you race other people, but it requires some port forwarding that I haven't gotten around to yet. Still the game is pretty fun.

I'm trying to do a run of Twilight Princess where I run from plot point to plot point without getting distracted and goofing off. I keep getting distracted and goofing off. Like, I'm at Lake Hyrule and I just got underwater bombs, so I'm ready to do the third dungeon. Instead, I loop around Hyrule again getting two more bomb bags. That sort of thing.Ok, finished this yesterday. I even managed to never go fishing except when the plot demanded it. Well, except in the Water Temple 'cause I forgot if the bone fish count. And that one time in the graveyard 'cause I wanted to know if you could catch fish there. And also in the back of Eldin's spring because I didn't remember there being fish there... Anyway, I didn't go back to Snowtop to snowboard, so there's that.

It's kinda a weird feeling. This was the first game I played when I bought my Wii. My old save file was from 2006. And now probably the last game I'm going to play on this thing is Zelda again. I'm, like, almost an adult now, sorta. I felt more of a peer thing from the adult characters than from Link this time. It's not like I want some super adult old man Link to play as, but there was this distance that wasn't there before, at least during cutscenes. Running around bashing things was as fun as ever...

There was, like, a paragraph about blowing up monsters with bomb arrows here, but you've probably read enough. It was fun and these next two weeks of waiting for the next one are going to suck.

I think I'm gonna go fishing.

Gotta say that after taking a look at it, I'm really interested. I've been looking for another first-person parkour game for awhile now after Mirror's Edge and when I thought of parkour games, this minimalistic style always popped into my head too. Only thing is that I've heard the game is somewhat short. What are your thoughts? I'm really interested but I don't want to feel like I wasted money even if it's just $10. (Just spending $2 on Alpha Protocol felt more worth it than a lot of my other impulse buys on Steam)

Oh, absolutely. There's a huge improvement, but I can't get over the fact that you can cut and polish a diamond on most of the Nord women's faces I've seen so far. (Not gone farther than Whiterun yet. Maybe it's just a Whiterun trait?)

Also, the Jarl of Whiterun's Housecarl. The dunmer? Holy shit. It's like she had her cheekbones (or maybe her entire jaw?) replaced with very sharp daggers.

It is rather short. There are only maybe a dozen courses in all (I don't have an accurate count right now 'cause the game's on my desktop) and at the longest they will take 3 to 5 minutes to get through on your first try, depending on how much you screw up. The replayability comes down to how much you like time trials and competing for a spot on the leaderboard. Usually that kind of stuff doesn't interest me, but rocket jumping to 300+ km/h and finding the perfect wall-jump route is pretty damn fun. I've actually managed to grab a spot on the top 10 leaderboards on a couple of the maps (though that was a few days ago so I might have lost my spots by now).

Plus there is always multiplayer racing if you can get it working (which I haven't bothered to yet, so all I see is a blank server list and can't join any games).

All in all I'd say get it at $10 if you're really craving some first-person parkour action. If it ever drops to $5 or lower though then I'd say you have no excuse not to get it. I hope that helps.

Oh Melfice, I haven't been following anything Skyrim since I'm not a huge Elder Scrolls fan, but what's the leveling system like? Because the leveling system in Oblivion (where leveling a skill related to an Attribute X number of times before resting to increase your level gives you the "optimal attribute increase") is what made me hate the game.

There are no Attributes.

You raise skills, and those skills contribute to your level up, and then you level up. Pick to increase Magicka, Health or Stamina, pick a perk(or save it). Roll on.

Yeah, basically it's more of the same, except different enough to not feel stale.

Also, I do like the new lock picking. Well, I say new, but it's just been ported in from FallOut. Still, it feels nicer than the old lockpicking system.
Even though it does take away a bit of the difficulty of lockpicking.

Okay, then.

Except you always get a perk on level up.

So, say, you leveled up. You choose to upgrade Health, and then you go to your One-Handed skill, and pick a perk in One-Handed.

Every skill has it's own tree of perks.

Yeah I just watched that 20 minute gameplay demo and while part of me is thinking "it was a demo, the actual gameplay might end up like Oblivion where you slash at a dude forever and watch his health barely whittle away while he makes you his bitch" another part of me is screaming "You get to fight dragons! And not like in Dark Souls where the dragon stomps you into the ground in a single shot! No these dragon fights are like the old stories of knights fighting dragons!"

EDIT; Incidentally how're you guys playing it? I intend to go full blown mage and learn every piece of magic available so I can become a god. And also be a werewolf in case a melee brawl ensues.

I'm on my second playthrough of Deus Ex. Also I've been playing Warhammer 40k Space Marine. The new DLC Exterminatus mode is just crazy crazy fun when you've got a group of guys that can work together. At first you're all "Pfft, a couple orks, no big deal," but then you're all like "Oh my god THEY COME FROM EVERYWHERE" and you're frantically trying to score some melee kills to keep your health up while your mates are pouring gunfire into the endless green wave.

Went back to Champions Online since the Aftershock storyline is free to play now. Running from the Kings of Edom was kinda cool, the horrible fake accents were horrible and not in a good way, the fact that one of the Avatars randomly changed voice actors mid-game (we'll have this woman finish up the lines for this character who was until now a man. No one will notice.) was lame, but getting to beat the everloving crap out of Defender as an all powerful avatar of chaos and destruction was quite satisfying. Stupid Defender.

the horrible fake accents were horrible and not in a good way,What does it say about us, as a people, that we need to clarify when "horrible" is a negative thing? I propose that it signifies our excellent taste in entertainment media, much like being members of a message board for a defunct sprite comic.

Double-tap for the "on-topic" target, I'm now playing "Make this car legal to drive and insured while also disposing of another car good only for scrap in a way that won't get me a letter from the DMV, all in the space of a week." Like anyone with dignity, I'm not using a FAQ, but this game's pretty tricky. I mean, the designers obviously put in little hints and stuff, but, as one unfamiliar with this genre, they might be going over my head. Same reason I suck at First-person shooters, really. Should keep my mind off Skyward Sword, at least.

An evil goatee.
