I'm gonna be honest, (I usually am, I like being good) I don't really know if anyone else on NPF likes Silent Hill save for three or four of us. And while I like to imagine everyone's reading my posts in awed wonder, it's probably not the case save for three or four of you. And right now, I'm just going to whine.

I'm going to buy the new Silent Hill, Downpour. It looks interesting. I've pre-ordered it. But here's the thing: I'm going to buy it as a fan. That means that whether it's garbage or not, I still want to own it. It's why I've purchased and watched the Silent Hill movie - and while I've maintained that the newer SH games aren't the best, there's always been moments that I like in them - especially the music. Now, I don't expect the series to stay the same forever, and it would be wrong if it did. It should evolve. But there's a limit.

Akira Yamaoka has since left the series, to go on to new things. Which is fine, nobody wants to forever work on one project. But when you replace one of the better composers of video-game music with Korn... that's when I start to question if you aren't actively trying to sabotage yourself.
