In one of the few times that a Gamestop exclusive is cause for rejoicing, one of them has confirmed a USA release of one of those "Operation Rainfall" games that people keep talking about.

The original article was very careful in talking about how the news didn't quite confirm its release, but they've since updated with information direct from Nintendo.

If the information below seemed to too good to be true, Nintendo has now confirmed the news: Xenoblade Chronicles is coming to North America next year.

The game's page on Nintendo's website only lists an April release date, while GameStop's website has been updated with a listing that shows it as coming out on April 2. Whatever the exact date may be, at least we now know it's coming.

We also know it'll only be available through a limited number of outlets: GameStop stores, GameStop.com, and Nintendo.com.

So, we're getting the game. The only problem is that it's exclusive to Gamestop, or buying off of Nintendo's site. A bit annoying, but at least we're getting the game.

Four threads down, dude. (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=41100) Maybe I'll order it through Nintendo's site if that will allow me to avoid the slime pit that is Gamestop. Have to see where things stand 'round April time.

Bah. Sorry. OK. Go ahead and ignore this one, then.

We were already busily ignoring the last one, I think. I'm probably the only person here who both somewhat cares about the game and hasn't already played it, and I've already made the same post, like, three times.

I thought it was okay to buy brand new games from Gamestop? Or does this simply add to their ability to stay open so they can sell used games and destroy video games forever?

Personally? I just think it kinda sucks that it has to be exclusive to any one store.

I thought it was okay to buy brand new games from Gamestop? Or does this simply add to their ability to stay open so they can sell used games and destroy video games forever? The most relevant issue in this case is that Gamestop will sell pre-order copies to people who didn't pre-order. Since they only buy enough copies to cover pre-orders, this means pre-ordering with them isn't a guarantee of receiving the game. And that is lame.

Also they smell and I hate them.
