To the Moon is a rather recently released indie game that you may or may not have heard of. It's pretty much entirely a storycentric experience, with a few exceptions where it has some conventional gameplay attached to a particular moment. However, these gameplay moments make up about 1% of the actual game.
What makes To the Moon truly special is that it is actually a very well-written game. Yes, it has a few moments that don't work as well as others, but the vast majority of the experience is simply stunning. Through its use of music, SNES-era visuals, and beautiful dialogue, it is able to tell a deeply emotional story that I believe anyone actually interested in such a game will find very moving.
It is the first in a series, and yet this is one of the few times I am actually glad this is the case. While the game is a bit short for something many will play only once, it is easily worth the price and I don't regret buying it one bit, especially when I know that money is going towards future titles in the series.
I highly recommend you all buy it as soon as possible. This is a game you really just ought to support.
