So, the game is upon us... i'm on the verge of picking it up (just an inch closer...)

and from what i understand, many of you fine people are gettign or already have the game... and it's Online Coop, so... Lay it all in here folks! Who will be playing at launch, give your name tags, set groups, do a marathon... whatever! let's roll!

Also, since the game has no option for Voice chat, for those who want it, might be the right place and time to organize one via one of the third party options around.

I'll be there on launch night.

Azisien#1701 is my battle tag on bnet.

Client is downloaded and ready for launch.

As for voice chat, I find Steam is an often forgotten alternative. Everyone is so crazy about their Teamspeaks and Vents and Mumbles (though I do have Mumble) they forget you can just invite some folks to a steam chat lobby and use the voice chat that's built into it.

You can't install it too, right? Or is there a way around that?

A coworker told me today that they're launching in California timezone for everyone. So I have to stay up until 3AM if I want to play right at launch. Which, I probably won't, since I have work in the morning.

Yeah when I try to install it just gives me the "The fire from the sky still falls, Diablo III has not launched yet" message. And really? They're launching midnight PDT? That sucks. I'll probably opt for sleep Monday night then.

We can go to space. We can probe electrons flying around atoms. We can make computers predict the weather over a week in advance.

But we can't make a rolling launch. Nah, the reason is they is bitches.

Rolling launches would be unfair to people in the later time zones. That was always their excuse for the WoW xpac launches.

Ramary: Killer of Diablo threads.

Anyway, apparently you can install the game (and download the first patch) after 8:01 PDT today, so in two hours.

I'll be on there. I doubt I'll play tonight since I'm in the Central time zone but I still have to come up with a b.net tag anyway.

Scionide#1482 is my battletag, I got it all installed and ready to go! The game launches the exact moment I get home from work so I'll probably be on tonight.

A LITTLE OVER AN HOUR TO GO FOR US LAUNCH!

I am not interested in rushing thru my first time, so I hope you guys don't mind if I take my time to talk to NPCs and whatnot.

Completely unacceptable. Everyone knows the only real way to play is to run through with minimal completion and beat the game as fast as possible so you can get to higher difficulty levels and better lewtz.

30 MINUTES!

So, I'm rolling Monk. What are you all going to pick first?

Arcanum

Wizard. The Arcane Power resource pool is one of the big things that convinced me to buy the game. Constant spellcasting so long as you're a little clever with resource management? Don't mind if I do.

Servers are busy at this time. Error 37

I figured as much. I'm passing the time by refreshing the Diablo 3 general forum, and seeing how many "servers are busy raaaaage" threads are made. So far there's like 15.

e- Refreshed the page twice, lost count.

e2- Ahahaha in the sticky thread about Error 37 the blizz dev posted http://s18.postimage.org/ra3uxwyyf/D3servers2.gif

So what class will you be playing?

Edit: Got to character create screen, but won't let me actually finish.

EDIT: I'm at character select screen and just sent out friend invites to everyone who posted in this thread (Hex, Arc, Asizen) as MastrBetty

Edit: Level 11, currently in the middle of Act 1 finding sword pieces.

I caught up to you Wandering :). When do you think you'll be on again so we can party up? (If you want to, of course).

Also I totally recommend that you all go into options and enable "elective skills" or something like that (if you aren't already aware of the option), which will allow you to equip whatever skills to whatever slots you want. This also lets you have multiple primary, secondary, etc type skills on your bar if you don't like certain skills.

Also, I keep spending all my gold on crafting. I've upgraded my smith a whole level and 80% of my gear is crafted. Only now I'm broke and can't craft anymore (and also lacking crafting materials) :ohdear:

Well, I had to work so I hadn't had a chance to play it yet, but I should later tonight in about 4 hours. Battletag in case anyone wants to join me is Tynivictus#1679

Yeah, about 2 hours from now. Then 5 hours from now.

Edit: First impression (almost done with act 1 with a level 12 monk)

I LOVE THE MONK'S EXPLODING PALM. It's like corpse explosion without needing a corpse.

It feels like Diablo.

I love mix and matching skills. (Though some seem admittedly useful than others.)

The story is much more involved. Mini cutscenes of concept type art to the tune of whatever character your narrating and you responding to them.

Scoundrel companion is great. Templar is kind of a dick.

It did get a little dicey a couple of times, though I haven't died yet.

It does have a fairly grim atmosphere, but it's not totally dark.

"AND NOWS HE DEAD!"

Welp, I won't be playing much more today it seems. Servers are down for maintenance and will allegedly be back up in an hour, just in time for me to be busy making/eating dinner and then leaving for a three hour class, after which I'm off to celebrate a friend's birthday. So if anyone's playing at like midnight EDT, I'll see you then.

So far the game is a lot of fun. It definitely fits in well with the rest of the Diablo series and still has the same controls we all know and love.

I rolled up a demon hunter and so far I'm loving it, although I'm stuck at level 6 currently because the launch is about what we expect from Blizzard, servers down for extended periods :crying:

I'm playing Demon Hunter right now as well and it's pretty fun, although I played Monk in the open beta weekend and I'm kind of missing roundhouse kicking enemies into a bloody mist. DH are great for being a turret of death. It's definitely a Diablo game.

Heads up!

Players are reporting a game breaking bug in newly released Diablo III. The bug kicks players off Diablo III servers, bringing up an Error 3006 message.

The bug is triggered when players interact with the Templar follower early in the game, equipping the Templar with a shield.

Players on Blizzard's Diablo III forums are reporting the bug; likewise, players on website Eurogamer apparently are, too. The error seems to be specific to the Demon Hunter class.

Blizzard, the game's developer, has yet to release a fix. Online, players are recommending that you do not equip the Templar with said shield prior to accepting him as a follower.

"Don't trade your equipped shield with the Templar," wrote Diablo III player Laurelin. "The game boots you out, and you can't log back until Blizzard notices and fixes this issue."

Stay tuned.

Also, a Korean group beat the game in 5 hours.

To clarify, they cleared normal. Diablo 3 isn't beaten until you clear Inferno (or at least hit max level) :).

So, I gave the other classes somewhat of a shot, but it seems I only have love for the Demon Hunter. I have yet to try the wizard out of spite since my drops are largely wizard-based.

Caltrops and vault with two hand crossbows is way more fun than it has any right to be.

Wizard is OP. I'm level 30 with a dps of 700, and I can cast disintegrate all day thanks to Diamond Skin's Prism rune, which lowers the cost of all my spells when Diamond Skin is active. And then when I activate Archon I have an average of 900 dps (the damage ranges from 600 to 1100 on the beam attack). The friends I'm playing with are just running magic find gear since I can kill everything while they take care of the loot :).

e- Just cleared Act 3, my DPS is at ~860. Wizard still OP.
