So... we got 2 new handhelds in the last year and i keep seeing people yelling about how the PC is going to see a "gaming resurgence" due to Sony and Microsoft clinging on to the current gen of hardware. Also, we have the WiiU coming out as well.
So are there any games you are just super stoked for?
Personally I will probably be getting a Vita for Persona 4 Golden (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7H5pYCw4ET4). I know, kinda stupid to hinge it on one game, but I am hoping some more stuff trickles down before October rolls around. I also am kinda stoked about the recently announced Shin Megami Tensei 4, right now it's just for 3DS, but I saw some murmurs about it possibly being on the Vita as well.
Closer to the present, I am definitely looking forward to Torchlight 2. I loved the first one so much, and my only complaint was the lack of multiplayer.

Only thing I really care about that springs to mind is SMT4, which sadly is for a system I do not have right now and I also don't have the monies to spare to get that. But eh, who knows. I'm kinda hoping the P4 remake will be ported to PS3. I don't want a Vita, I just wanna play P4 again but my PS2 is broken.
But as for games I would actually play for their gameplay... umm, sorry. Doesn't look like there's anything interesting coming up right now. Then again, I didn't pay attention to this year's E3, because why would I want to do that? So maybe I'm not yet aware of something I might like.
I'm more into indie titles recently anyway. They more often bring something unique to the table. I kind of want Fez to get a PC release soon. I'm also looking forward to Edmund McMillen's new game, which isn't even announced yet, all that is known is that it will incorporate elements of Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac in some way.

Borderlands 2.
Dust 514.
Dishonored.
There are others I'm interested in, but these are the 3 I'll probably be buying ASAP (or playing for free day 1, in the case of Dust).

Guild Wars 2.
Playing it on beta weekends only makes me more excited for it.
Watch Dogs, Borderlands 2 and a slew of PSP games.

...I was going to do the exact same thing, but then Teddie and Chie's voices changed into abominations against mankind, and I wept tears.
It's just hard to imagine me playing through Golden and enjoying it when, the entire time, I'd probably be like "I could just be playing the real Persona 4 on my PS2 right now, in which Chie and Teddie actually sound like Chie and Teddie."
Like, if the game only cost me $60 I'd still definitely buy it, and I'd probably still enjoy it. But it's difficult to now justify a three-hundred dollar investment for a single game, that I've already played, in which I'd spend much of the game wishing I was playing the version I already owned and have played. A few new scenes can't quite save the game when I could just watch the Ski and Halloween sequences on Youtube.
...It's also, admittingly, difficult to justify spending another 90+ hours in a game that I've already invested 150+ hours over several years into. On that front I wish there was a way you could, like, transfer your save files from the PS2 to the Vita so you could get credit for all the personas you've already fused and the levels you've already gained in the original title.
Interestingly the general vibe from other P4 fans is more or less ambivalent towards the Chie VA change? It sounds like they replaced Tracey Rooney with a better known voice actress who sounds high-pitched, younger and more akin to Chie's Japanese VA. Personally, I really grew attached to Chie's voice so that's the change that most infuriates me, but I guess there's objective justification for what Atlus did there.
...The general consensus is that Teddie's new voice in Arena and Golden is awful, however.
I figure you should be warned.
(Personally I wasn't that huge a fan of Teddie's original voice so that change would irk me less.)
ASIDE FROM THAT DIGRESSION:
Ten new games I'm looking forward to, not in order:
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. This is a strange title for me for me to mention as I've never played a Sly Cooper title before, but the E3 info really impressed me. I might have to pick up the previous titles, too. I was not impressed with Ratchet or Jak so I skipped out on most PS2 platformers, but Sly has a certain...aesthetic style that just looks so distinctive and appealing.
The Last of Us. Not much to add to the consensus. It's looking phenomenal.
Beyond. I hesitate to mention this title because the game could be awful and it wouldn't surprise me; Quantic Dream isn't exactly the most reliable or consistent of developers. I did enjoy most of Heavy Rain despite its glaring gameplay flaws, though.
Assassin's Creed 3. The flamboyant pro-American patriotism has me a tad worried, but I do love the Founding Fathers and I love the era in history.
Watch Dogs. I'm hoping my PC rig can play it, if not my PS3. My PC runs modded Skyrim on Ultra settings decently, if not incredibly, so that's a good sign.
Ni No Kuni. ...Stunning.
Company of Heroes 2. I really loved the dynamic, pulse-pounding strategic action in the first title, and the second one's moving the action out to the eastern front, a story I actually find more compelling than the standard U.S. vs. Nazi D-Day narratives.
Persona 5. I don't think it's been officially announced yet but it hasn't exactly been kept a secret that Atlus has been working on it. I'm hoping for a PS3 release.
The Last Guardian. I haven't given up on you yet, Team ICO.
...Not just yet.
Persona 4: Arena. Unlike Golden, it's all new content, and it comes out for PS3, so it'll only cost me $60 (or less) to procure. I'll probably be buying it used a couple months after its release, though, because August is looking pretty packed for me and I don't want Atlus interpreting my financial support as I sign that I totally loved the P4 anime or something.
Bonus Choice: The Final Fantasy VII remake that Square keeps postponing.
It will come someday.
Eventually.
...Maybe?

Still holding onto the idea that the most patriotism to be had from ACIII is all getting thrust upon us in the trailers, as a way of advertising it. I mean, they won't just forget that George Washington was using an Apple at some point, right?

Does Journey To the center of Hawkthorne (http://www.reddit.com/r/hawkthorne/) count, even though it's a fan effort? 'Cos even though it barely has anything (and most of those are costume changes), it looks like it's going to kick ass.

Well, the only game I could both buy and play when it comes out and that I really really want is Pokémon Conquest. I like the main series, I loved the mystery dungeon games and this one looks interesting.

Oh, and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. I've got a pre-order and have been going through a massive amount of avoiding spoilers, to the point of avoiding the fandom entirely, since it was released in Japan.

The Doublefine Adventure (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doublefine/double-fine-adventure) game. I mean, they pulled $3,336,371, when the only asked for $400,000. They better produce something epic with that amount of cash.
I really want Spaceventure (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spaceventure/two-guys-spaceventure-by-the-creators-of-space-que) to become a reality too (Space Quest under a new name, but the same designers). About $43,000 to go, with 41 hours left to go.
That isn't too shabby, when you consider they are asking for $500,000.

Watch Dogs: Tid bit worried about this one though. It has all the elements needed to grab hold of my attention but also worry me about the lack of information. Both versions of the reveal trailer (british and US) are almost exactly the same. I hope it isn't too railroading
Dishonored: Steam punk Victorian setting with magic. YES PLEASE! from what i have heard from the developers on this game it seems that its a open ended story game Like Deus Ex. It is also undergoing a ton of changes because Test Players still keep stumping them with crazy mixes of powers and clever uses of abilities... meaning that SOMEONE is going to have alot of fun replaying this to find tricky but clever uses of powers.
and i need to get back into the habit of actually looking at future games. ITs just so hard to look at them when i have no means of buying them.
