That is literally the Kickstarter's name...
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ouya/ouya-a-new-kind-of-video-game-console
It's already funded. With 25 days to go. How much it got so far? 4 Million. How much it asked for? 950 thousand.
OUYA: The revolution will be televised
OUYA is a new game console for the TV, powered by Android.
We've packed this little box full of power. Developers will have access to OUYA's open design so they can produce their games for the living room, taking advantage of everything the TV has to offer.
Best of all, OUYA's world-class controller, console, and interface come in one beautiful, inexpensive package. All the games on it will be free, at least to try.
So, it's essentially a Open platform console. Cheap, on just USD$90, that is aiming to create a console environment to host the Tablet/Phone/Indie scene all to iself.
So, it's like a big slice of steam running in a console with a lot of free-to-try stuff.
So, this is actually a topic we will hear a ton about on the next few weeks/months... i'm not sure how much of a success it can actually be, but Hey... i've seem far stupider things getting funded.
