How about we talk about something that gets people less worked up.

Do you like cats? I like cats.

I have three cats. Cocoa is a white male (oh shit privilege) cat that lives outside because he tends to pee on things. I have had him for about eight years, and he is a very sweet, affectionate cat who often comes and sits on my lap when I go outside for a smoke or whatever. I feel bad that he has to live outside but I can't have him pissing all over everything, so them's the brakes.

Juniper is a female calico, and she's kind of a fatty. I rescued her from a shelter about three years ago, and she was very skittish at first but has become very affectionate.

Maryjane is a female black tabby that I found on the side of the highway about two months ago, and brought home so she wouldn't get hit by a car. She is quickly growing, and almost immediately became very affectionate upon being brought home. Currently she is sleeping on my lap as I type this.

What kind of cats do you guys have?

Whelp, I guess we will have to agree to disagree good sir. While I disagree with your views, I respect your right to express them in this open forum.

It's over. You're done.

Permaban for now. Might be overturned upon staff review later.

Everyone else is still free to discuss their adorable kitties.

Used to have no less than four cats. Numbers dwindled down over the years due to them perishing from old age (like in their 15s or 20s). All of them were affectionate to a certain degree. But one of them really stood out for me.

One of my cats, Sarah, caught a bat (yes, a winged rodent) and dropped it in front of me. She would chirp whenever she saw me. And whenever I petted her head or back, she'd let herself fall over with a thud on the side so I could run her tummy while she licked my hand. So adorable. <3
I miss her so much.

Now I only have one cat left who has a weird perchance of trying to follow me into the bathroom every time. Still a pleasant cat though. ^^

I love cats, too bad my mom's not exactly fond of them so, I've never never been a cat's human pet.

I got three cats at the moment, though I can only tenuously lay claim to them since they were my cats back when I lived at home, like, four years ago. But hey, I still love 'em so whatever I'm gonna talk about 'em.

Two of 'em live at my mother and step-father's house. Godzilla and Tokyo, or Zilla and Yoyo. Zilla is white with a grey coloration on her extremities, and Yoyo is... I'm not sure what the word is. Tortoiseshell I guess? She looks kind of like this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tortoiseshell_Cat.jpg) but not quite.

They're named that way because they're a pair of sisters and, as kittens, Zilla always attacked Yoyo; also I'm a huge dork. Their temperaments have flipped as they've aged, which I've rationalized as the invention of Mechagodzilla. Zilla is fond of me in particular.

The third is named Violet, and she, to my knowledge, still lives at my father's house (I haven't spoken with him for over two years now). She's a Manx, born without a tail, and has a white coat with patches of brown, which themselves contain black spots. Manx is a really cool breed. They have really long back legs which gives them a sort of rabbit-like gait, and Violet can jump just ridiculously high. I've seen her jump from the ground to the top of a seven-foot wooden fence and land perfectly balanced. Also a very vocal cat, which trait swings on a pendulum from endearing to obnoxious and back.

More than the privilege comment, I think we all ought to brainstorm why a white cat is named Cocoa. This confuses me.

Was it the sweet sweet ironies? We'll never know. I question the leadership of our gloriously revolting* leader.

*Even if the revolution has ended, you're still revolting to me. ;)

I used to have two cats, Zaza and Guibou (pronounced Gueeboo). The first was probably stolen by a neighbor or someone with a car because she just dissapeared one day without leaving a trace and she used to hang out on our driveway all the time to sunbathe. I had payed to get her declawed and spayed with my own money back when I was 14, and dissapeared only a few months later.

Our next cat was bought on a whim and was ridiculously affectionate. He would sleep on my neck almost every night until I moved him over because I was having a hard time breathing. He also very rarely stopped purring. I guess he was just a happy cat.

My girlfriend has a cat that has long hair, is grumpy, and that eats things only to regurgitate them later in inconvenient places.

I'm a fan of cats, though I don't get to own one because my roommate is somewhat allergic. When I do get around to getting a cat though, my goal is to get a Bengal. They are one of the coolest looking cats out there.

There are some neat looking cats they are breeding.

But! If you're getting an animal I highly recommend getting a rescue animal because Bob Barker wasn't joking about that shit.

Breeders are still fine and excellent compared to pet shops though. Seriously do not buy from pet shops, if you have the money go to a breeder, if you don't, go to a shelter.

I'm particularly fond of Maine Coons, which I suspect my Chase is. I also had a Chocolate-Point Thai named Azure who died of old age. I miss him. He was an awesome spider-hunter, and the best hot-wing-eating buddy evar. Seriously. He was totally a table-scrap kitty, and used to get little choice tidbits of this and that from anyone who thought his pretty face was too much to resist (read: everyone). Anyway, I came home one night from delivering pizza for Pizza Hut quite a while ago, and had a box of hot wings with me, which I began to dig into. He sat at my feet and cried and cried because he wanted one, so eventually I de-boned one and gave it to him. He cried as he ate it, cried later when he let it go, but I never got to eat hot wings again without giving him at least one.

It was particularly amusing when, about a week later, my sister was in the kitchen making some fried chicken strips. He sat at her feet and cried for one, so she broke off a piece and gave it to him. He sniffed at it, looked up at her as if to say "Well, where the hell's the spice?" and left it there.

Currently have two cats, and they're siblings. One is named Gus, and he used to spend an equal amount of time indoors and outdoors. But lately he's been spending more time outside, and we're starting to think he has a second home that he goes to for food and stuff. Still, we see him around the house or neighborhood every now and then, so it's good to know he hasn't met a car yet.

The other cat is Kira, and she stays inside, or within sight of the house when we let her outside. She is a big baby, and never tries to squirm out of someone's arms when they pick her up. She also loves to lick things, be it your hand, or the blankets/cushion she's sitting on.

This is Kira:

And then there was Mickey, my cat that we had to put down a while ago because he was peeing and puking on everything. Still, he was my favorite cat. He disliked everyone but me. He didn't like to be picked up or pet by other people. If I was lying down on my bed he would lie down on my chest, or if I was sitting at the computer he would hop onto my lap, or sit next to me on the couch. Not gonna lie, I'm getting a little teary-eyed just thinking about him :(. Here's a picture:

I want to like cats and would acquire some but I am quite allergic to them. I did live in the same house with a cat, Milo, for about 7 years, with no shortage of suffering on my part. Sadly, he is about to lose one of his eyes to some unknown infection. Too much streetfighting. I call him Nick Fury now.

How hard is it to convince a cat to wear an eyepatch?

Less blurry because she wasn't moving around to get pet.
