No, this was obviously about Black Mesa Source considering a release date for a version up to Xen was announced a few days ago. Half-Life 2 Episode 3/Half-Life 3 is not a game that's ever going to be made. People just can't accept that yet. It's effectively cancelled, the same situation as Starcraft Ghost, "indefinite hiatus".

I think a new IP is a bit different to a sequel to one of the best selling games of all time...that said, I only check on Half-Life 3's existence every few months now.

No it wasn't.

Believing in HL3 is to be as naive as I am. Do you want to sink down to my level? Of course you don't. You're much better than that.

I figured it was Black Mesa because I'm on like, their subscription. Looking forward to it. Hope it doesn't suck.

I expect HL3 to come out around the time I have kids, my own house, and I wear white polo shirts everywhere.

YESS, a Flash Gordon game.

What is Black Mesa Source, anyway?

EDIT: Oh, Half-Life 1 with Half-Life 2 graphics/physics. Yay? Clearly this makes up for not having Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Oh, look, somebody else made it besides Valve. Huh. Man, gotta love that Valve.

Isn't Half-Life: Source that or, am I missing something?

Black Mesa (formerly Black Mesa Source) is an entirely fan-made mod with no input from Valve at all other than "please don't call it Source so people don't think this is official". It's a ground-up remake of Half Life 1 in the source engine with completely custom models, textures etc. They've been working on it for 7 years and several times it seemed to have disappeared into the aether, so it's exciting to see it finally surface with a release date.

(Half Life Source is simply the maps from Half Life 1 ported into the Source engine and was made by Valve)

I swear, the website has been down for about 8 hours solid now. I preloaded Borderlands 2 in that time. About the only way to get it right now is by torrents, and my upload speed is too damn abysmal for me to ever consider that.
