So I had a huge epiphany today. I like DnD. I tend to get preachy about politics. So why not combine the two and make a game that works to teach people about the political process?

While it's just an idea for now, I have to say that just the thought of why this isn't already created makes me wonder... Am I the first one with this idea?

Honestly, think about having warriors as the campaigners, clerics as the campaign manager, and forming a guild that is a political party.

So if people have ideas, feel free to put them here. I'm going to add more here tomorrow to flesh out this idea.

You are (http://rpg-directory.com/threads/political-rpg.645/) not (http://rpggeek.com/thread/654412/adding-politics-to-your-setting) alone (http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=269365).

Also, I'm pretty sure there is an actual Political RPG out there, I just can't seem to find it right now. The White Wolf system, however, is much better equipped to handle political intrigue than D&D.

Very true. But how to implement those clans as political factions with different political systems? I need to review the WW system because I've never played with that ruleset, merely 2.0 and 3.0.

I know that political debates could be a particularly interesting sidenote.

I rather like the idea of a news cycle beins used to split up the campaigns and help to expose different kinds of wrongdoings that occur. Unfortunately, none of your links really work on making this a media oriented campaign instead opting merely to adapt when it's somewhat different in context.
