EDIT: And then apparently it was still poison after all, but it has Shadow Tag so that's pretty fantastic.

With Honedge and Skiddo filling out the other two slots for now. I have a male Kirlia sitting in one of my boxes waiting for me to find a Dawn Stone because I don't want him leveling up further until I evolve him into Gallade.

Although I did just catch a Machop so I might sub out Skiddo for him.

Huh, I got him to red health + paralysis and I caught him with a great ball on my third try. Maybe I just lucked out?


Anyway, having a lot of fun with the game. I'm amazed that practically my entire team is level 20-28 and I haven't even gotten to the second gym yet. Though to be fair there's like two towns between the first and second gyms, and the new exp share (and how exp is no longer split when swapping pokemon in battle) is awesome.

Also, the minigames are surprisingly fun, particularly the super training minigame (shooting soccer balls at the giant balloon pokemon). Plus you get stats out of it as an added bonus! (well, EVs, but those give you stats)

Well, for me, I would get him down to yellow, then BAM! Critical hit, and Snorlax gets knocked out.

Though last night, I finally captured him.

After bludgeoning the Regi trio to death with ultra balls in Gen 3, I can't think that a snorlax is that bad.

But oh my god if the gen 6 legendary trio clings to freedom like Registeel then I swear to god I will choke a pidgey.

The first Legendary I ran into took about 6 ultra balls before I caught it. All in all not bad considering it was a bloodly Legendary.

In HeartGold I used my Master Ball on Lugia because I didn't know Kyogre was also in the game. Took about 6 restarts due to a combination of running out of Ultra Balls (I had like 30 on me) and accidentally killing him.

Anywho, I got Gym Badge #2 at about 13 hours in. I also have a gold medal in all the Super Training levels with my Frogadier, yes even the secret levels that only show up after you max your pokemon's EVs.

Also, while browsing online to find opinions on Doublade and Aegislash I found out that by tapping the grey default punching bag you can get a punching bag to drop. The kicker is that one of the punching bags that drops this way, the Reset Bag, can reset a pokemon's EVs to zero so you can min/max to your heart's content.

Y, because despite Xerneas reminding me of the Forest Spirit from Princess Mononoke, Yvetal is a badass demon bird. Also Mega Charizard Y > X. Same with Mega Mewtwo Y.

Pretty much. When I went to pick up a copy there were half a dozen copies of X and one copy of Y left at the store I bought it at, so that seems to be the general case.

Also the exclusives seem better. Tyranitar > Aggron

I found it too. Pretty sure it's not a random occurrence considering there's Mega Aerodactyl, so it makes sense that they hand him to you.

so a friend traded me a very well bred mareep (gets like double exp each fight), still its pretty weak, but I want to keep it as an adorable sheep. I'm fine with not min/maxing my team but its having alot of trouble even against lower level pokemon.

If you find the Eviolite item, that doubles the two defence stats of any pokemon that can evolve but hasn't, so at least sheepy will be able to take a few more knocks.

I also asked the original owner of my mareep about why she called it "perfect". Apparently its the result of aggressive breeding and has had all five stats pushed to their highest maximum potential.

The online trading system is perfect because of this. The psychotic breeders get an outlet for their optimization and everyone else who can barely find the time to do Super Training, let alone fuck with IVs, can benefit from it.
