Nope. Not at all. (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/mighty-no-9)
Tempted to fund this just for the metaphorical middle finger to Capcom, and I'm not even a Mega Man fan.

I do like the expanding on the whole "copy powers" concept, with Beck absorbing energy for special attacks from random mooks.
And I love the transformation concept, especially the one where Beck turns most of his body into a hammer, to be operated by his rocket-powered hand.
Also, these backer rewards are insidiously tempting. A plushie of one of the cute basic enemies?

I assume this is Mega Man's non-union Mexican equivalent (http://simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Se%C3%B1or_Spielbergo)?

Gotta love that $10000+ backer reward. lol
And the fact that(at the time of this post) there is only one of 9 slots left. Inafune must be dreamy as fuck.

You must try harder! Surpass the limits of trying hard and pierce the heavens with your desire!!!!

There will be so much "Fuck you Capcom" money tossed into this game... it's not even funny,
Well... its a little.

I like how it's only been a few days now and they've already met their funding goal. Hopefully none of that funding turns out to be wishful thinking from folks (that's happened a few times with these kickstarter things).
Also, fuck yeah this is gonna be so awesome!

The Kickstarter just finished, and they raised over $4m total from KS and Paypal. Broke every single stretch goal they could think of, which also means there's PS4/Xbone/Vita/3DS versions.

It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside to know that a Person is doing his dream of creating the game he always wanted to create and that THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of people support him.

This is the shit I've been waiting for. Dream teams coming back together to create games that are faithful new era versions of classics. I wish we could see a Final Fantasy dream team come together and make a game that is not unlike a FFVII or before.
In any case, this is a good way to kick in Capcom's teeth a bit and show them that their model sucks.

Heard of Finak Fantasy Dimensions, Four Heroes of Light, or Bravely Default: Flying Fairy?
I hope that isn't the DS 4 Heroes of Light because that one wasn't good.

I like Dimensions, it's pretty neat. But it's a pretty neat game developed for mobile with very little innovation or anything to set it apart from a cookie-cutter FF clone. I'm enjoying the story thus far, I'm expecting it to jump a shark at some point though and piss me off.
I want the NES/SNES development teams to come back together and make modern games with classic elements. Or Square of the 90s when nearly every product was amazing. I don't like being the old fart on his chair loudly proclaiming that games these days have lost their charm because there are tons of games that are absolutely amazing, but it is difficult for me to find myself really captured by any of them. I...I just don't care about any of the characters, or find myself wanting to replay them.

So exactly like a Squarenix game, then.
I think the only games I've really been genuinely excited about in the past 10 years have been open-world games like GTA and RDR, and the Batman games. I really really liked Fallout 3 but New Vegas has bored me. And the last time I played a new traditional RPG was years ago. I was playing FFT again recently but that's about it.
