I saw this up on the steam sale, and it did look fun, but this is definitely the kind of game I'd only want to play with other people so I thought I'd see if anyone still plays around with it.

I was actually thinking the same... there seems it was a burst when it came out but it got quickly forgotten

None of you guys even play GTA Online, and apparently millions of people bought it. But none of my pseudo-internet friends it would seem!

I haven't played in a while simply because where I'm living for school has terrible internet combined with it not running the greatest on my laptop.

But the game is still fantastic, and they just released some DLC for it which you don't even have to buy in order to play (only the host has to own the DLC, so you could just browse the open games for someone hosting the DLC).

It's definitely a game that's best with 4 friends using voice chat. Last I played a lot of the random players I played with were either dumb or uncooperative.

Something something PC master race.

13,069 current players, 15,203 peak today

It's not inactive by any means. Given that it's very focused on coordination you'll find a fair amount of random players have mics, so as long as you have your own you can make decent stabs at missions (even just 1 bot and you may as well give up, unlike L4D2). Personally I didn't like the game so I stopped after a few hours, so it's the purchase of the year I regret the most*. Not a bad game as such, and I gather they've fixed most of the issues that plagued it initially. If you've already got friends on your list that play it fairly regularly, give it a try.

I think it's still really fun but I don't play it because my multiplayer gaming kind of dissolved when school started up. But if there was some special holiday weekend match or something, I could contribute my Ghost-y Mastermind-y goodness.
