Seems like we just finished the Winter Sale-- Hell, I haven't even gotten my credit card statement from the last sale-- and now we're in the Holiday Sale (http://store.steampowered.com)!

Right off the bat, we've got some delicious, delicious game sales: 33% off the newly-released Metal Gear Rising port (seriously, didn't that just come out on PC today?! EDIT: okay, it becomes available in two weeks.), 50% off Arkham Origins, 75% off Bioshock Infinite (wow, again? It's like they're trying to GIVE this game away this year), and many other goodies.

We've also got the Holiday Trading Card dealie through the sales again! Buy real digital goods to get fake digital goods that create real digital backgrounds, emoticons and badges! Yay?

Well, little children, what sort of cheap games will you be getting from the sale this year? What are you looking forward to?

MG Rising already belongs to me.

40% of for the Stanley Parable seems like a good deal too, so i'm considering going for it.

I decided that since i already know all the damn plot of Dishonored and Bioshock Infinite that i can give a pass on these games...

I gladly see the card addicts go into their yearly frenzy of collecting badges jus tlike last year... hell. i still have spare cards from last year's badge!

Apparently the trading card dealie now gives you the ability to craft in-game items for the Free-To-Play titles like TF2, Warframe and Spiral Knights, meaning I might actually start to care about getting badges. That's kinda cool.

List of every game (http://steamdb.info/sales/) in order of how much it's discounted (remember anything below 75% could go Flash or Daily so wait until the last day!) and a list of all the package deals (http://steamdb.info/sales/?displayOnly=Package) too. Happy salesing!

I broke down and bought Arkham Origins. I'm REALLY REALLY tempted with Metal Gear Rising: Revengance, but do you guys think it might go lower than 33%? I kind of doubt it, since it's brand spanking new, not even available to play yet, but Steam has surprised me in the past.

It's already daily. It ain't going lower until next summer.

The $20 preorder price on MGR is a limited time thing. I heard 48 hours in one place, and a week somewhere else. But everywhere agrees that after the $20 period is done, it will go back up to $30.

The good news is that the PC version comes with all the DLC, so it's even more worth it.

This new PC version includes all three DLC missions: Blade Wolf, Jetstream, and VR Missions, in addition to all customized body upgrades for Raiden, including: White Armor, Inferno Armor, Commando Armor, Raiden’s MGS4 body, and the ever-popular Cyborg Ninja.

Yeah, that's true. Welp, METAL GEAR PURCHASIN' TIME!!

This will be the second game I've bought after watching a Two Best Friends playthrough of it... XD

I would love to buy it but Japan+PC port has not proven itself to be a good combo.

So super hexagon won a community vote @ 90% off making it 29 cents over like 59 cents before(80% off). It beat two other games that were going to become 50% off $20 titles. Can anyone tell me why voting for Super Hexagon was a good idea?

Anywho, I got Long Live the Queen for 50% off anyway, so I'm not mad, just confused.

Because some people don't know what any of the other games are, so they just vote for the cheapest option?

Sacrifice winning the next poll made me feel a little better. For those who don't know, Sacrifice is a game like Brutal Legend(Made years before), a RTS where you're a special unit that can cast powerful spells while still controlling your allies, except it was made for the PC which makes the control infinitely better.

Apparently Valve is giving away L4D2 today. I don't know for certain: The steam store and community areas are down for me, probably due to traffic.

Can confirm that this is indeed a thing. Clearly this is a ploy by Valve to get everyone hyped for L4D3

Go to the NPFU Steam Group.

It won't pop up a box or notification when posted -- only events will do that when they trigger.

Current flash sale vote is a touch choice.

Deadly Premonitions is . . . Deadly Premonitions. Though I've heard things about the PC port being that good it's still a wacky game.

Master Reboot is actually very interesting, despite not necessarily having the best graphics and audio it's a very interesting horror piece with some surprisingly thought-provoking themes on immortality and the digital soul.

Dream is an interesting puzzle and exploration game, but it's still very slim as an early access bit.

Of the three I heavily recommend Master Reboot. If you were a fan of the focus of Ghost in the Shell (Black-haired Motoko continuity, with the "holy shit I'm a robot am I even alive" theme), then this will definitely appeal to you.

Also since there apparently wasn't anything you wanted in return, I paid you gifting me KOFXIII forward by gifting SG to Flare. Thanks again!

Fixed.

If you want to get promoted from Private Obvious to Captain Obvious you're off to a good start.

Seriously though, I only get worse at gameseverything the more I play/do them, which is the exact opposite of the entire world and really does make me the worst gamer evar. Case in point, SNOIC racing weekend a little while ago, high positions in races in the first hour, consistently last place for the last hour.

So, i have Assassin's Creed 4 and Brotherhood. And Liberation HD...

Most would say i have all the best AC games...

I can get 1, 2, 3 and Revelations for 25 bucks on steam... have the full pack

worth it?

The current flash sales include Guacamelee, I strongly recommend getitng it, it is an excellent Metroid-like, wit beautiful graphics and a kicking soundtrack.

2 is worth getting if you like the ones you have and haven't played it.

1 is severely dated and just not fun anymore.

3 is boring, poorly designed, has shitty missions, a boring world to roam around in, a terrible story, generally shitty characters and on top of all that it's so buggy Bethesda and Obsidian look at it and go "How the fuck did they release that?".

Revelations I never played so no idea.

MuMu
12-28-2013, 06:41 AM
Asscreed will probably get a day/Flash sale.

2 is an amazing step up from 1, but then again you already have Brotherhood which is a step up from 2 so I'd only reccomend it if you're interested in the story. The same goes for Revelations that, while still keeping up the Brotherhood gameplay, is mostly an end for Ezio and Altair's story. It barely has an antagonist and there's a terrible tower defense minigame(That's skipable if I recall, but there's something you gotta do to skip it...) but the environment and how it handles the History bits are great.

Don't get 3, not even for free.

Bard The 5th LW

I will say with full conviction that Assassin's Creed 3 only barely qualifies for the title of 'game'.

Asscreed will probably get a day/Flash sale.

Its sale was yesterday (and thus will continue today as well). Even though AC4 was the only one listed on the front page, the entire series is on sale.

And to reiterate what everyone is saying: 1 is dated, 2 is fantastic, 3 is terrible, Revelations is just okay.

1 is the one i didn't play, nad getting 2 and revelations would be just to have the full Ezio Story really... if i drop 3, i can get 1, 2 and Rev for 15 bucks or so... so i'll keep that on my cart until the last hours of their deals just to see if there is a surprise drop.

Also... KOF 13 is 66% on the voting page. So you should campaing for it

I'm considering Injustice... at 50% might be a nice addition since the Roster of fighting games on steam is really great but so very slim...

And Dust is 75% off and YOU SHOULD GET IT

I'm also debating the merits of Saints Row 4 at 66%...

Out of all the sales, flash sales, shit sales, disappoitment sales, etc. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that SRIV is really the only thing worth getting this year. *I only say that because I have everything I wanted from previous sales and what I really want isn't out yet. so this year's sale season has been very underwhelming.

Mechanically speaking, it is a smoother SRIII with tighter controls and a facelift. Its shining points are the writing, character interactions, and over the top madness.

Avoiding it myself because GFWL. And Rockstar changed their EULA with the implication that they'll never patch it. I know you can mod it like with Fallout 3 to disable GFWL, but like Dark Souls that also removes multiplayer. Not that it's such a big deal for GTA4, but... irritance. Apathy shall be countered with apathy.
