Back at CES, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal "revealed" that a follow-up to his infamous clunker of an attempt to cash-in on the fighting game craze, Shaq Fu, is in the works after a 20-year absence. At the time, we all thought he was joking but it turns out that prospect may not be a laughing matter.

An anonymous tipster sent the fine folks at JoyStiq a photograph featuring two t-shirts (shown in the above banner) that have allegedly been made to help promote the game. When you add these shirts on top of Shaq's CES comments and the strange "Shaqfighter" trademark that surfaced last year, the second coming of the bane of Craig's existence could be a very real possibility.

If it's real, I hope the game isn't digital, cause pressing delete just doesn't have the same sense of flare and showmanship as smashing or shooting up a physical copy.

Former NBA superstar Shaquille O’ Neal has clearly been busy since his retirement, as he has just announced his latest project, Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn, a re-birthing of his “so bad it’s good” cult-classic title, Shaq Fu. Marketed as “Devil May Cry with an old-school Streets of Rage feel injected with classic Shaq humor,” Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is asking for a decent sum to fund its development at $450,000.

At the time of writing, the game has already raised $18,000 toward its goal, with 45 days remaining, so its’s certainty within the realm of possibility that this project sees the light of day.

Created by newly formed development studio Big Deez Productions, the production company includes staffers who have worked on such titles as the NFL Madden series, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Perfect Dark, Halo, and Final Fantasy. The influence from Street Fighter 4 definitely shows, but with the backing of such a strong development team, it’s likely that this game will turn out to be just as entertaining as its intended to be.

Check out the campaign video below, and be sure to take a look at the Indiegogo campaign to decide if this is a project you’d be interested in backing. $15, the minimum contribution, gets you a digital download of the PC version of the game, which is not a bad deal at all considering the work that has already gone into the title.

Seems like it'll at least be decent game in the end though. So that's good...?

So they seem to be legitimately be asking for gamers to troll themselves by funding the thing.

I'm betting the artist behind that ridiculous model is the same one behind WWE All Stars.
