(Because my old map got corrupted with the most recent update)
You are [RED SNIPER]
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/SniperQuest/2014-10-24_193717_zpsb1c9f541.png
You are in a [MESA] biome. You have the following provisions.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/SniperQuest/2014-10-24_193859_zps6e676c8a.png
You are on a hill with a few sparse oak trees. The landscape on one side of the hill extends into rolling dunes with scattered ponds and one medium sized lake.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/SniperQuest/2014-10-24_194228_zpsb99aac4a.png
On the other side of the hill the ground slopes into a large canyon with a larger lake visible in the distance.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/SniperQuest/2014-10-24_194211_zps049f8a5d.png
It is roughly midday according to the sun, with clear weather.
What will you do?

You need to build some battlements so you can be a proper sniper and camp there.
Alternately, you need to build a house shaped like an R.V.

With the added elevation, you spot what appears to be an exposed lava pit across the canyon.

You are currently without a weapon that could in any way be classified as a "sniper." Therefore you are not a real sniper. Rectify this glaring oversight and build a bow.

Mr. Shivvy (https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Tribalman%27s_Shiv) would have words with you, mysterious condescending voice in headspace. Still, a valid point is made. You probably should address your lack of range before you try to explore much further.
You determine that in order to fix up a bow, you need a source of wood and a source of string. The wood is a given.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/2014-10-25_112447_zps7262fe44.png
The string is a bit harder (not to mention bitey-er) to come by, but doable. You're no stranger to dealing with arachnids of unusual size (http://youtu.be/pCO56iyBXtU)
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/2014-10-25_112836_zps600d94a7.png
Success! However, you're not looking too good. The existing food gave out some time ago and trying to coax an apple out of an oak tree is harder than it sounds. You're going to need to find a more reliable source of nourishment and fast. Not to mention you still need something to launch from the bow...

Acquire grain and start farming. You're a camper by trade, so it's not like you're going anywhere. Start at the nearby lake, but build a floating garden over time so you can further minimize the distance you need to travel to get things done.

It took some scrabbling to find seed and arable dirt, but you've managed to set up a small farming plot at the small pond on the canyon floor. You've also transplanted some sugar cane you found while foraging.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/2014-10-25_143257_zps5bacae93.png
You also pieced together a fishing rod from some spare bits of string and sticks. The large lake has so far proved serviceable.

You've done alright for yourself over the past few days, even considering the lack of gravel. The farming and fishing have been good, managed to beat some decent loot out of the local undead. You've got enough building materials now, maybe it's time to consider upgrading your lodgings.

Think about why you are here while looking out at the sunset over the mesa.
You spent a long evening by the lake in contemplative thought. Too long. It was the dead of night when you snapped out of it and on the way back to the battlements you were ambushed by a bizarre witch-woman thing, screaming about hellfire, curses, and Tom Jones for some reason.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/2014-10-28_162032_zps54386ba1.png
You managed to beat the magic (and most of the blood) out of them, but you took a bottle of who-knows-what right to the face in the process. Feeling out of sorts, you decide to sleep it off.

>Consider alternate food.
Freakish bird head or not, you are NOT reducing yourself to eating small rodents and vermin. And it's not just because you haven't been able to find any. You have a feeling that if you're going to find any form of life outside of the nocturnal hordes, you're going to have to find greener pastures (literally).
>Make lots of glass. Fly until you find an ocean. Build your ancestral homeland of Underwater New Zealand.
You're still not entirely sure what the writer's room was smoking when they came up with that plot turn. Still, a private underwater kingdom would go a long way to keeping out the Spies and Pyros. Just because you haven't seen any yet doesn't mean they're not out there. Besides, it's nice to have a goal.
Before you do anything else, though, you take a quick inventory of your current base and supplies.
You've replaced the old wooden battlements with stone, for defense. You've also added a moat to support the transplanted sugar cane.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/2014-10-31_133508_zps571a7a9b.png
You've also moved the food plots indoors. You currently have three plots of grain and three plots for alternating potatoes/carrots.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/2014-10-31_133515_zps99fd776d.png
The actual living area is barebones, but sufficient.
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc230/Shyria_Dracnoir/2014-10-31_133525_zps0fc359bf.png
You currently have roughly three chests worth of assorted supplies, sorted between building materials, food and tools, as well as dungeon spoils.

Finally, you've managed to draft a map of the larger terrain. With the battlements serving as map center, the mesa takes up a large island surrounded by small stretches of ocean. There is another mesa landmass to the south, with a sandy desert stretch to the northeast.

Well, we've already seen a mesa biome. Desert to the north might have a temple for explorin'/gettin' accidentally blown up.
You decide investigating the desert would be the most novel option. If anyone knows anything about curses and maybe gettin' rid of them, it's mysterious dead civilizations in the middle of the desert.
A mysterious well seems to be a promising sign of future loot.
