Hey I don't know if you've noticed but I FUCKING LOVE SKULLGIRLS and the developers behind that, Lab Zero Games, are trying to crowdfund a portion of the funding for their new Valkyrie Profile-esque action RPG, Indivisible. (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/indivisible-an-rpg-by-lab-zero-and-505-games#/) If they can meet the goal (a rather daunting $1.5 million), then the rest of the development costs will be covered by 505 Games, makes of such titles as Payday 2 and Terraria.

Lab Zero has developed a playable prototype to show off the basic gameplay and visuals and it's really, really well done and I recommend trying it out.

On top of it looking like a really promising project from a team that has made a pretty darn good game in the past and more than delivered on what was promised by their last crowdfunding campaign, I've also gotten to know some of the folks over at Lab Zero over the past couple years and I really just want all the best for them. So hey if you could kick a few bucks at the game to try to get it funded, that'd be neat!

Haven't had a chance to play the prototype yet, but it's on my list of things to do. Didn't know they were asking for $1.5 million though, that figure seems like shooting themselves in the foot. A lot of people will look at that and think "well this is never going to get funded" and then not bother to pitch in. Which is a shame because it looks like this game really deserves to be made. Hopefully they can get a lot of publicity for their campaign, because it's sure going to need it.

To be fair when they were still somewhat unknown they were able to turn a 150k request into 800k+ and if their developer desires that much up front then there isn't much point in keeping that from anyone willing. At the end of the day its all about what interests can be drummed up, and their good reputation may serve them well at this point.

That demo was pretty freaking sweet. Art style looks good, music was great, and though I wasn't sure about the combo system at first, the boss at the end really demonstrates the kind of depth it has. By that I mean if you're just wailing away you're gonna get whooped.

And they are now past the 1 million mark! 2/3 of the way there!

Honestly, the first two weeks of the funding extension going as slow as they did made me think this probably wouldn't happen, but with the huge surge over the last few days it looks like Indivisible is officially going to be a thing.
