I have been playing the open beta and I think this has moved into my buy category. In fact if anyone would like to play let me know. Its been so long I was thinking we could do steam- err battle.net night.

It's fun, far funner than I expected. There's a serious need to do a balance pass on some characters, though. Especially pharah's flight uptime/fuel regeneration and her rocket damage either needs it's damage have a dropout for distance or decrease it's radius damage.

As is you can just blind fire in their general direction and wreck face. That aside, it is fun yanking her out of their air into tolbjorn's turret as roadhog, though.

Eh I think Roadhog is far more imbalanced than Pharah. Pharah at least takes multiple direct hits to kill people, even squishy heroes. Meanwhile Roadhog gets an instant kill on anyone with 200 hp or less if he lands his hook since it's so easy to land a follow-up headshot. He can also get a two-shot kill on all but the tankiest of characters if you can land a second headshot after hooking them. Not to mention his self-healing can keep him alive for so long.

But yeah, game is fun, I pre-ordered it after I got my hands on it during a closed weekend test a few weeks back. I'm trying my best not to put too much time into this beta, since progress will be wiped before launch but I'm very excited for the game to be out so I can sink an excessive amount of hours into it.

Roadhog is easy fodder for McCree, stay at mid range pegging his head or flashbang and fan him down if you get hooked or flank him... at least, from my experience as Hog.

Honestly, McCree slaughters everyone but tanks with half-decent aim, and gets the tanks with the flash+fan combo. I think he's the only overpowered one.

The fact that many people all have differing opinions on who's OP suggests to me the game is quite balanced? I was ambivalent about the game, but having tried beta for a while I'm definitely buying it now. 'S fun. So long as that BUY OVERWATCH box doesn't get replaced with a BUY LEGION box when the game actually releases

I hear the major downside to Roadhog was the fact that health and healing feeds ultimates like nobody's business.

Now I also think its less "balanced" and more transition. After all the point of allowing an open beta is to see what happens when you toss in brand new people with the ones that got a head start so characters pop in and out of the meta.

Oh on battle net I'm Aeroz #1810

Still getting used to how their friends system works

Playing this on PS4 cause wanker's cramp Carpal Tunnel and it actually works really well, Blizzard continuing to do really good ports after Diablo 3 RoS knocked it out of the park.

Maining Reinhardt and Mercy with a bit of Tracer on the side.

Leading an organised push through the front door of the Temple with a couple of Junkrats, a Mercy and a Bastion behind my shield as Reinhardt clearing all opposition, dropping the shield to pin a bastion that tried to deploy in front of me and winning the point while shielding my team mates and occasionally hammering a fool is one of the best moments I've had in FPS with pubbies.

Yeah I had a reasonable time with the open beta on the last couple of days it was out. I'll probably grab it when it gets out actual.

For my time I was playing mainly the whole Support group(though Lucio most of all), and Winston when the team needed a tank or Junkrat when the team needed a sudden shift in offensive momentum.

Lucio's heals aren't quite on par with Mercy, but he does them to everyone in range and when it comes to maintaining team momentum you can't beat his speed boost. I also dig his ultimate, it is a grand addition to desperate pushes or in support of other ultimates.

Also yeah, Roadhog is a big buff guy, but he's more like a slower/fatter assassin character much like Reaper, Tracer, and Genji. He is supposed to use his big fat healthbar to move into bad situations and single out important targets for destruction, he isn't unkillable though. Hell I was taking him out a ton with Junkrat, because he can't hook me if he can't see me.

Pharah meanwhile never seemed too awful, she does well with ambushes as well. Though while she has some armor, flight puts her in a vulnerable position vs people with proper guns.

I think the fact we all seem to be pushing different character says really good things about the balance.

I think they made changes to the program that selects "play of the game"

Cause the play of this match was him dying in about three seconds then watching his corpse for the rest of it. No fighting around him, no turret kills. Just watching a ragdoll

Maybe it became self aware and has a taste for sarcasm?
