Well, to put it this way, it was really aggravating to be limited so badly by my party's Sphere Levels when I could have traded my sphere stock in on a 5:1 ratio and cleaned house on the grid, but instead of that, it just all sat there.

Hopefully, this will essentially be the Sphere Grid without Sphere Levels to hold you back, which will mean you can spend your rewards freely. They just need to find a decent earning/cost balance.

Clearly, Square has set up something on the Internet to detect awesome ideas. This really, REALLY saves Hope as a character for me. I was afraid he'd get stuck with Siren or something and end up being a much weaker character, but Alexander is a powerful and powerful-looking summon that really says a lot about who he really is at his core and who he'll become when he gets over his individual issues.

I know it's one of those "heart of a lion" bullshit things, but screw it, it works in this case.

Alexander in any game is sweet, though.

My problem with Alexander is that his Driving Mode is a Barrack or a Castle or a Shooting Fortress or whatever.

To which I ask, isn't that the same fucking thing as his non-Driving Mode?

Well, yes, but in Gestalt Mode, he becomes a flying fortress.

I mean, cut them some slack, we're talking about a thing that's never had more than five points of articulation in its entire life.

Still not a good enough excuse to justify a transformation. They should have just made him a tank.

So I'm guessing Vanille's Eidolon will be Leviathan.

Square Enix is bringing together two Final Fantasy games for an unlikely pairing. This week's Jump Magazine reveals that the first print run of Final Fantasy XIII will include a campaign code for Final Fantasy XIV.

And that's about it. The magazine doesn't say what exactly the campaign code will get you.

I would very much like to see Leviathan in the game. I have no idea what it would transform into, given that the best idea I have is another motorcycle, since it could just fold up, but somehow I wonder if they'd give it a more organic form to match the animal forms Bahamut and Odin take for the other women. I mean, as much as I really hate to base things on patterns, since that would have indicated Hope's Eidolon should have been female (although I guess Fang was originally intended to be male from FF Wiki, so, eh), but, well, we have five of six known playable characters revealed and they're all machines for the men and animals for the women so far.


On a different note, FF Wiki also says it's been revealed that Snow will use his coat as a weapon. Whether that means a change in his fighting style (although I think punching would be more effective than swinging a coat around) or the ability to upgrade everyone's weaponry is unclear at this point. Frankly, I think upgrading his coat is almost as ridiculous, given he's wearing perfectly good gloves.

Edit: Apparently, it will grant him enhancements based on exchangeable patches. I guess that's not so bad.
