If Spider-man's writers can get away with forgetting he had a baby, I think I can live with some minor plots going unaddressed at the end. It's not like the comic will keep going year after year pretending some life-changing event never happened to the main character.
It's not as if logic or plot ever had priority over jokes anyway. Mmm, jokes. . .
