Xbox has about the same specs as my PC, and its no lightweight.
Decently priced too. Part of me likes that the hardwares aren't directly competing. Looks like the PS4 is focusing on raw speed while xbox is more about just front loading. Now I'm no expert on these things but it looks like optimizing between the two would be done differently. Meaning cross-platform releases will be more expensive. Hoping they lowball the software instead. I'll take zero load times over fancy graphics any day

I have the feeling the leap in graphics is not going to be particularly amazing this time around...just a feeling.

Am I supposed to be able to tell the difference between those 2 screens in that video or... what?
Other than that, don't really care yet, I'm still quite happy with this gen, do we really need to move on to the next already?

I'd almost wonder if they'd just go ahead and make PS4 games PS3 compatible, but that would undoubtedly kill their sales (depending on how cheap these PS4s are) and I don't think they'll risk it. |

If we are talking just time than its been a reasonable amount. I'm hoping they use this new processing power to add in more complex systems and lessen load times. Doubt it though.

maybe they meant how long they'd continue to make them? I mean the PS2 only recently stopped being produced. Besides I'm not certain the new gen will replace the current one. People are reluctant to jump into new hardware now.

As for PS4 BC, Apparantly Sony patient a box containing a cell processor and PS3 BIOS that will help the PS4 run PS3 games (which are built to use the Cell processor). Have yet to find anything confirming this but most rumors point to Sony having an answer about that by E3 2013. |

They put the PS1 processor in as a math coprocessor in the PS2 and, as a result, had hardware built-in for playing PS1 games natively. It would be terrific if they did that again.
I mean, half of the games I bought when I bought a PS2 were for the first console, since I had gone the N64 route instead. Maybe with a PS4 I'd finally play some PS3 titles.
