It's one of the attacks of the mushrooms in the area. It messes up your controls. Good thing is you can sell them for a decent profit.

Also Bad news and good news:

Good news - Slingshot is more powerful than what you have now

Bad news - The Slingshots never get SMAAAAASH attacks. Just a heads up in the future.

I did get another bat in the meantime, but that's definitely good to know. I was wondering why I didn't do any SMAAAAASH!!! attacks anymore.

I vote the anti-blue place too!

Also this is pretty good so far! I just caught up on all of the chapters. Makes me want to play Earthbound again.

Unless I'm mistaken slingshots have crummy accuracy too compared to all other weapons, with the exception of the Casey bat. Jeff's also superaccurate with his guns.
