Well, overall I'd say this ending is a fine way to wrap the comic up. Matt's artistry is pretty neat too.

However, I'm a bit lost on how White Mage's whole "nothing good can come from this" line wound up being important. Also I'm a bit sad to see no closure to Dr. Swordopolis vs. the unnamed dark god, who were seemingly using Fighter and BM respectively as their earthly pawns for some grander battle.

This isn't altogether an epilogue of epic proportions like I was kind of expecting, but it's the end and I accept it. Not like I had much choice. :p

Thanks for the good times, Brian!

You know, I am so satisfied with this ending that I actually don't want to see it continued in any way. I think I'd risk being disappointed with anything else. This ending was as close to perfect for me as I think it could've gotten.

I think Brian explained this in another thread - Darko ditched BM after Sarda became the Nexus; what happened to Sarda is what Darko intended to happen to BM. Dr. Swordopolis intended Fighter to be the champion against Chaos but gave up on him eventually.

Guess it wouldn't be a fitting ending without somebody claiming that they predicted the whole thing on the forums, as usual!

I've been reading since 2001 (around when Fighter was trapped in his Armoire in the forest). I'm still laughing over the nachos tonight... excellent work Brian, Matt, and Jeff. I'm going to miss 8-bit.

Just registered to say I loved this series. Love how it ended - seems like the perfect way to go.

Also, nice reference to Final Fantasy 7-10 on the job board (SOLDIER, Galbadia, Alexandrian princess, pilgrimage).

Brian, this was an awesome ride, thanks for the laughs.

Also, I saw Law Ninja! Hopefully he remembers to FEED them this time.
And those boots. HA!

I quite like the fact Dragoon wasn't forgotten.

I hope we get to see the characters again in whatever means that tickle your fancy.

Good work, man.
Kudos.

I'd like to see someone shovel with the gunblade or buster sword.

Anyone else notice red mage breaking the forth wall in the panels for the close ups on White Mage and Dragoon? The style is really fitting for 8 bit theater and if there's one thing that should be attempted if ever, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the other 1224 comics done in Matt's style.
