Yes, Usually it's stuff that is mass produced healthy and not all of it is hot when it finally gets out.

I would say the Majority actually eat at Home or try to pick something up before they get to school.

Depends on how poor the student is. If his family is working for minimum wage or is currently unemployed then the student can get meals for free via Government. Otherwise if the family is well to do they can afford the $2 meals and if the kid is spoiled or rich they can afford to buy doubles which is a extra $1.50. some kids with restricted diets or inbetween poor and well to do will carry bagged lunches (brown bagging)

It's a aquired taste. As you go up in the schools they actually provide better tasting food.

Choice. In elementary school they usually don't provide options. while in middle school they offer more and in High you have alot of options (and finally Collage who lets you do whatever you want)

Those pizzas are basically the $1 frozen ones you can find in Walmart and other grocery stores. When you're poor, they're awesome fresh from the microwave.

I actually love those pizzas. I have a craving for them, but don't know where to find them.

Spritz some ketchup on top and mmmmmmm.....amazing.....

Oh I feel you. Hell I'd still eat that pizza with a large helping of cafeteria style tater tots. Then I'd go back for seconds. Maybe thirds.

I honestly can't remember, I do remember that in elementary school we had cafeteria food (we didn't have a cafeteria?) so I'm not sure where it came from, I think it was delivered hot in boxes or something to the school, pretty terrible quality.
There was a cafeteria in an inner city school I went to for 4 months and I tried that, pretty terrible food too, never was spiced properly.

Generally cafeteria workers are either volunteer or minimum wage union, they generally don't know how to cook and can't take much leadership pressure, or they'd be working in a real kitchen instead.

The general idea of cafeterias is that the cooks don't know how to cook and are given materials, recipes and food that just barely meets nutrition guidelines while cutting as much cost as possible and being idiotproof so they don't get sued, instead of a kitchen which serves healthy, moderately priced food with a delicate touch that takes skill.

That sounds a lot like the Springfield Elementary school cafeteria.
