Pocheros - I really like your style XD it's so funky and quirky. I'd like to see that first one colored, if you're intending on coloring.
Loyal - Ah oil pastels. What kind of brand are you using? They're hard to work with for that kind of thing so kudos to you Batgirl - Ahh I love your pen work. It's so bold ? Doc Ock - I like the MYSTERIOUS FIGURE guy the most. Nice use of darks. Kyanbu - I really like that outfit. The feet look like they MIGHT be a little small /not 100% sure. But yeah, I really like the outfit design. Random doodles, all I seem to post is doodles of Owl XD I do more than that but I don't feel like posting all of them: ![]() OH BOY GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS ![]() Quicky coloring to practice with a limited pallet. Also, not a sketch but a cell phone charm I made based on a drawing I did. ![]()

Pocheros, abstract = instant love!
Kudos to for that piece, Loyal. Anything that I do that isn't either drawing on the computer or drawing with a pencil is an instant disaster for me. CJ, that charm is awesome and I want one! Really diggin' what everyone has put up on here lately, as well! As for me, here's a quick sketch of an angry mime with a guy in a suit who has a giant pokeball for a head. ![]()

Been working some on Feng's game:
Inventory example: ![]() The idea here is that if Feng overflows his energy, it gets burned into a level up. For that reason, the system is going to store items as unique, rather than as stacked. Or at least healing items will be stored this way. I have yet to work out the kinks, to be honest. Food and drink items are labeled with how much they've been eaten and the number of points left will be displayed in the description. There are four states before the item is gone. New is full (100%), and then there are three indicators of how much is left from 99-67%, 66-34%, and 33-1%. Also shown for good measure is a walking sprite and his tweaked character portrait. Map icons: ![]() Feng won't have a real map with things written down. Instead, he'll have a mental map that he keeps for himself, which by merit of my writing allows me to be a bit lazy with the icons. Feng basically simplifies things a lot based on importance. A chest can be anything from a chest to a dresser, so long as it might hold valuables. Doors similarly double for windows, since a thief isn't really that picky on how to get in and out of a place. There ARE three types of camera, though, which is a matter of utmost importance, because it affects his means of avoiding detection. A normal camera is much easier to sneak by than a camera with a light on it, for example, because a normal camera is less likely to see him if he uses a spell to shroud himself in shadows, where a lighted camera will see his shadow spell starkly. An IR camera needs to be fooled via heat spells instead. Niches are particularly important. They represent things like tables he can hide under if someone's coming. Also, yes, that is a cutting board icon. He can use it to make sandwiches. XD Bonus: His tweaked damaged character portrait and the starting values for his HP and EP. I also have the conversation system worked out and some graphics made for it. Whoever is speaking will have their portrait shown at the top there and the text will just be shown in a black box starting at 4 lines' worth of space and possibly expanding to more than that as needed. I've also decided on a basic visual style. I don't have anything made yet, but things are probably going to have much simpler, cleaner graphics than Ruby due to my increased palette. I COULD abuse the noise tool, but for the most part, there probably won't be much reason to, since houses and such really don't require a lot of dithering to express well. It might still be useful for trees and other natural objects, heck, maybe even carpet, but for the most part, using it on the walls would just look messy.

Thanks, Kyanbu!
The basics of your anatomy are looking pretty good. Two out of your three hands are quite good, but the fingers coming from behind the right one's arm are a bit wonky. Also, the line of her foot (the profiled one) bulges out a bit too much. Their feet are also too small altogether: too short and too thin. Violet's neck also seems a bit thick. Past that, I'm loving your joints! Also, while your figures are elongated, they're mostly uniform in it and the anatomy generally is right given that. Good work! Back to tooting my own horn, I decided to blow my screens up to 640x480 to see how it would look on a 4:3 monitor full-screen, and the result was actually quite good! It's entirely an accident, but I've been making pretty much all the graphics in a way that looks great when vertically stretched 1:1.2, so I'm pretty proud of myself. Also, with the health and energy bars, through sheer stroke of On a non-art-related point, I finalized how spells are going to be learned and ended up with a much more natural progression, rather than just unlocking groups at certain levels. I realized with my new numbers that I wanted to start the player off at level 0 (the base shown) rather than level 2, so Feng no longer will be unlocking spells he won't have the EP for until later. It also gives the player more of a feeling of accomplishment and real bonuses to provide incentive. Lastly, I changed the food descriptor from "Nibbled" to "Bitten" to make room for more than 9 items stacking. I'm allowing healing items to stack now, but they'll only do so if they share the same point value, so it's mostly a matter of keeping it clean for the uneaten ones and then providing a little surprise for the obsessive game-breakers who want to test the system. I've also added more recipes to make use of the cutting board mechanic. There are only 12 healing items, but I'm allowing the player to make 5 of them at this time using lower-level components. It's (hopefully) going to work out to the wholes being more than the sums of the parts to reward the player's audacity breaking into someone's kitchen to make better food. I have yet to come up with the values healed, though, so we'll see. I'll be adjusting the numbers if need be, but for now it's a matter of what theoretically makes the final product. Edit: Since I'm sure nobody cares about all that stuff, MORE PICTURES! Sidestep sprites: ![]() He needs to cover a bit more ground than just stepping would allow, so he has a jump. This is actually probably the distance he'll cover in-game. I made sure the feet lined up on the ground in even tiles. Hiding sprites: ![]() Starts off the same, only he slides under a piece of furniture. I had to move the last one over some to avoid them overlapping for you guys.
