Serious Help a poor college student: Take a survey!

First off, the mods have OK'd this, so don't worry about that.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am in need of a little help for a class for school. It's a group project, and everyone knows how much fun group projects are.

Anyways, as part of this project, we need to gather some information. The subject of our project is health care and insurance, so a logical place to start seemed to be find out, so the logical place to start was to get a baseline: how many people have insurance, how many people don't, how many get insurance through work, how many veterans make use of the VA, stuff like that. So, in my quest to find people willing to take a survey, I come here.

Now, I understand that stuff involving health care and insurance can be a touchy subject. If you would like to take the survey but don't want to post your answers, feel free to PM the answers to me or, better yet (for me when I start to compile the info), e-mail the answers to BJSchoolStuff@live.com.

Now, disclaimers:

Yes, I know this survey is pretty poorly written. It was what the group could come up with with the time we had.

Yes, I know this isn't very scientific. But all of us are doing the same survey, so I'm just going for as many response as I can. We'll see what we can do with the info later.

No names or anything are going to be collected by the group, if you're worried about that.

Anyways, that aside, let's get to the survey:

1: Are you insured?
2: Are you employed
...a: If yes, does your employer offer insurance?
......1) If yes, do you get insurance through your employer?
.........a)If no, why not?
3: Are you receiving any medical assistance (medicaid, etc)?
4: Are you a veteran?
...a: If yes, do you receive medical care through the VA?
......1) If yes, how do you feel about the quality of care you receive there?
5: When was the last time you had to see a doctor?
...a: What kind of doctor (ER, General Practitioner, Free Clinic, VA, etc)
......1)How do you feel about the quality of care you received there?
6: Are you insured through your parents?
7: Do you have any dependents?
...a: If yes, are they insured?

Again, if anyone is willing to take the survey, I'd be much obliged. If you don't want to post the answers here, feel free to PM them to me or e-mail them to BJSchoolStuff@live.com.

For the obligatory "there has to be something to talk about for a thread", I dunno, feel free to use this thread to talk about what a tool I am for trying taking a school project to an online forum. I know, I'm a loser.

I was thinking it would be a good place to bitch about how there's no real public option still.

So: Bitch bitch bitch.

ANYWAY:

1: Are you insured?: Nope
2: Are you employed: Yup.
...a: If yes, does your employer offer insurance?: Nope.
......1) If yes, do you get insurance through your employer?:

3: Are you receiving any medical assistance (medicaid, etc)?: Nope.
4: Are you a veteran?: Nope
...a: If yes, do you receive medical care through the VA?:
......1) If yes, how do you feel about the quality of care you receive there?:
5: When was the last time you had to see a doctor?: Aboooout five years ago? Most recent I can remember, I think. Somewhere in there.
...a: What kind of doctor (ER, General Practitioner, Free Clinic, VA, etc): General Practitioner.
......1)How do you feel about the quality of care you received there?: Surprisingly good.
6: Are you insured through your parents?: Nope
7: Do you have any dependents?: Nope
...a: If yes, are they insured?:

It seems like giving the questions in the open and letting people decide to take the survey after reading them would be likely to cause selection bias.

Anyone is allowed to cheat as much as they want whenever they get handed some dumbfuck assignment obligating them to deal with random members of the public.

Actually looking again it seems like it would make more sense to look up publicly available polling information on this subject, unless surveying is a required part of the assignment, which it doesn't seem to be.

1: Are you insured?
- Yeah, through my University. It's mandatory unless I have some other over-riding insurance, such as work or a parent. (Obviously, I didn't. That was $200 I could've used, too...)

2: Are you employed
- Nope! Wish I was.

3: Are you receiving any medical assistance (medicaid, etc)?
- Nope.

4: Are you a veteran?
- "See this leg? Neither do I, it got shot off in <war>!" Nah, I've never even held a gun. Only 19 and Canadian, man.

5: When was the last time you had to see a doctor?
- When my appendix was gonna asplode, methinks. Which is to say, grade 10. Which is to say... Shit. Math. 4 Years ago? Spring 2007. Saw a dentist just last week, though.

6: Are you insured through your parents?
- Nope.

7: Do you have any dependents?
- Nope, just my cat.

The other, of course, involves orcs.
