"When The Forum Dies" or "In A Hundred Billion Million Years..."

First off, I;m jealous of the stereotypical version of the Irish. Whenever I try to sing the drinking songs meant for the tenor, my bass screws it up. I'm pretty screwed up either way, so whatever. Anyway, I like campfires.

That may sound like a really throw-away, non-sequiter comment, but I want you to think about it. Please, really think about the last time you had a campfire. It was totally (pretty) rad. Smores and all. Now, at my campfire, we sung campfire songs, while I sung drinking tunes. My cousin announced his wedding with his fiancee. I thought of me favourite Irish bands, and wondered about lifem and love, and realtionships, and spider bites and scrapped knees (My 3 and 5 year old cousins were there) and wondered aboutmy end. I wondered about Life, The Universe, And Everything. But least of all, I thought about you guys.

I thought about what would happen if I were still here in twenty years, when I blackmail a girl to marry me and adopt some kids, would I still have NPF to guide me through father hood? Through marriage? Through pudding?

What are you gonna be doing in the final days, let alone the final days of NPF?

50 years from now i hope, well' be virtually meeting in the holodeck to discuss how about our kids have it easy with their damn hover cars and all that racket they listen to, and how back in "our day" we listened to music made with real instruments made in a factory and not any Poly-digital-cyber-crap-synthesizer they use now. while Seil will be virtually standing in the Holodeck, holding random signs of drawings his grandchild did that, are ironically related to whatever is being discussed. All the while discussing how Brian Clevinger changed comic book history when he bombed both Marvel and DC's studios in a mad ranting of his final days and how after that comics were better forever...

All in all, there is a decent possibility of this turning into a casual point for Old Geeks.

NPF doesn't die, it will barely hang on until we can get government funding (because everything can get it these days).

And my final days will definitely not be these two things, sitting in a hospital with only the beeping of the heart monitor to lull me to sleep or being bored as shit in a nursing home (or whatever they call those places).

NPF will end with the rest of the world on December 23rd, 2012 when NPF finally becomes sentient and nukes Russia somehow, starting a nuclear war that kills everything.

Seriously, this forum will not last nearly that long. Every few years, there was one new forum after the next. And it wouldn't shock me if this isn't the last incarnation.

I mean, we're on our 3rd or 4th board, after all. Saying this one will last us until a billion years hence, is a tad optimistic. The people might stick around (hey, I'm still here), but the software might change. Just a fact.
