OK Go: Awesome, or Super Awesome?

The videos are impressive but the actual music is pretty much "Everyband" to me. Like I can't see myself listening to this stuff in my car in lieu of something like, say, Mastodon.

But I like metal more than pop rock, so other people might find them more interesting...they just sound like other pop rock bands to me but people who listen to pop rock more might be able to better differentiate.

I am as guilty as the next of such reactions, though I would like to attempt to keep an open mind...for instance, I understand that my reaction of unbridled hate to the uttered words "Arcade Fire" is undoubtedly irrational, as I'm not really sure if I have ever actually listened to Arcade Fire before (although presumably their music has been in the latest annoying commercial). I can recognize it as irrational, and have to work through it and actually listen to Arcade Fire sometime. But I'll put it off as long as possible.
