I'm now going to proceed with the usual technique seem on NPF and completely ignore what I think portrays me in a bad light.

Moving on.

The first lesson here is that you can't change someone's opinion even if you back it up with facts if the person already doesn't like you.

The second lesson here is that, given enough time, the way you are currently doesn't matter because you've screwed up in the past and no one ever lives anything down OR you did a cool thing in the past and now you have to do things in the same way forever.

Edit: Like, shit, I could totally provide an example, but then if it was stupid I'd never live it down.

Edit2: Yeah, no, I pretty much never followed a religion and/or politics thread ever because it's based a lot on personal opinion and the "us vs them" way of thinking so no shit it's going to feature heavy-handed opinions like shit.

I know I've done that before with a game like Chrono Cross, though the message is not actually "the game seriously sucks, if you like it you are a jackass" and moreso "this game really disappointed me, I'm irrationally bitter about how much it disappointed me, I mean yeah the game is objectively decent and there are worse games out there and mediocrity is not an appropriate sequel to one of the best RPGs ever, so this is really a joke about my Trigger fanboyism."

The only other games I remember bashing with such ferocity were the recent Sonic games, which, coincidentally, fit into the exact same nostalgic framework of "The games aren't really as bad as I'm making them out to be, my statement is moreso a reflection of my fanboyism of the Genesis-era 2D Sonic titles and how the new games are comparative disappointments and less a reflection of the actual quality of said new games."

Like when it comes to games that are actually objectively worthy of scorn, but that have no relation to prior products that I really enjoyed? I tend not to care enough to note how 'terrible' they are.
