Ok, I got it, I know of one way, to make EVERYONE accept anything about this game, and consider it the best of the series.

They just need to add, one character

And whats this "instead of" why do people think there is some kind of Mordin fund that they cancelled. I'm actually kind of shocked that Bioware viewed it worthwhile to spend what I imagine would have to be an obsessive amount of time working out the kinks so that the Virmire Survivor could rejoin your team, but did not think it was worth even a fraction of that time to integrate a character like Mordin into the fold.

Like Kaidan and Ashley were okay and all, but it's gotta take a shitload of effort to incorporate two separate characters into a single role like that. Personally, I'd much rather have most of the ME2 cast back then worry about those two schlubs, but I know I'm in the minority there.

I feel bad for the PS3-only ME3 gamers because the ME2 cast really got shafted compared to the ME1 cast in this game.

Also, I wonder what the default is as to which ME2 characters survived the suicide run if you start a new game of ME3? Wouldn't it really nullify the entire impact of your efforts in ME2 if a new game on ME3 defaulted to everyone having survived?

EDIT: Yes, Krylo, even Jacob is a better option than Chobot.

Judging by ME2's defaults, the default for ME3 will probably be everyone dead, and also you're pregnant with reaper babies somehow. And Udina lives on your ship.

I don't think that they would have put Mordin in if they hadn't put Chobot in, I just fucking wish they were putting Mordin in.

But, yeah. I do believe that at some point the staff at this company sat down and had a decision to make. Is Mordin in the game? The answer was no. Is Chobot in the game? The answer was yes. And that, my dear Aero, is stupid.

maybe because they realized people like him more for his personality, characterization, etc than as a combat buddy? Because thats what playable means, he can fight with you, not like he's dead. Can be perfectly legit reasons like he's simply too old for this.

not really. I mean not to sound pretentious but I didn't find getting them all to survive was all that hard. I found getting Wrex to survive ME1 was harder to do, guy was not easy to speech check.

While I do completely agree with your argument, it's worth noting that Mordin will in fact be in ME3 (that's confirmed, even outside the realm of the Spoiler Script), he just will have a different VA.

...It's been speculated that this means a vastly reduced role for Mordin because Beattie wasn't brought back and they'd bring him back if they were doing anything meaty with the character. I personally agree with the speculation and would add that Beattie was instrumental to Mordin, moreso than the VAs for most the other (former) squadmates, so it's just a weird decision to have someone else VA him and spend money and effort on Chobot instead.

EDIT: I'd have approved Mordin not being a squadmate in ME3 but remaining your head scientist on the Normandy. So long as he continued to have dialogue and influence throughout the game and offer you advice and whatnot.

I want to check something. Who had Mordin in their party on a regular basis? and I mean because you found him a good choice to fight with not because you just liked having him around?

I mean I talked to him every time I came back to the ship but I never found him that great in the field. Is that just my play style?
