Not that I could tell. Obviously there wasn't any flying around space in the Normandy in the demo, but I also wasn't examining things in the level and getting 500 plutonium or whatever, so they've probably cut that.

How is buying a game on a different system a mistake, and an understandable one at that?

I bought the Xbox version for ME1, and then the PC version for ME2. It was a mistake because at the time I didn't realize how terrible the starting options would be without a save file. Eventually I got a save file from a site hosting copies, but none of them were exactly like my game had been.

I think (THINK) the point Karesh is trying to make is...
Bioware is stupid for advertising Mass Effect 3 as "Great time to jump into the franchise" when the starting options seem to be so terrible for people who didn't play the games before, or in his case on another system/ lost the save file in some way. That alone acts as a barrier for entry. And also that statement alone being pants-on-head retarded, who would start watching Back to the Future at part 3? |

But they'd have to really desperate (also: have a very narrow definition of "reasonable effort") to not be able to wait for a day or two for shipping from that webstore.

I kinda figured the starting settings would be shitty, that's why i opted out of the PS3 release of ME2.
I figured I would just wait until I got a better computer and bought them on Steam. Oh, horrible thought! It would incredibly spiteful of EA to make the saves from Steam copies of ME not compatible. And sadly, I can see them doing that. (I don't think they will, its dumb business sense)
