But why are we paying attention to and sensationalizing a clearly deranged individual rather than putting them in a mental hospital and never interacting with them again except to maybe give them dirty looks?

Please don't give someone with any sort of mental handicap dirty looks. They're still human beings. Nobody's gonna force you to interact with them, but there's no need to dump hate or disrespect on anybody.

Y'know, I've spent all summer working at a camp for people with disabilities, and today, after a long-ass week, I think "hey, maybe I should see what's up on NPF," and lo and fucking behold, it's the exact sort of ignorant cockshittery that I thought I could escape from this summer. People with attitudes like that make the world so much shittier for disabled people than it already is, and it's already pretty fucking difficult.
