Pokemon Umbral and MTPL are still going strong, and we've got other stuff like Exalted popping up in there too.

The Exalted game is going strong and has been for awhile, we just don't do the actual RP on the forums 'cause lawl dice combat over forums.

We use the RP section of the NPF chat.

I left for a few months but now I am back, grinding threads to a halt like the good old days.

I'm still around, just not as active due to work. I still like this place, for me IT IS the best forum i've ever been to on the webs.

Tuth be told we had more activity around when Nuklearpower was more active. it still puts out some awesome stuff, and i'm actually quite glad to have seen "Team Robo" growing up... but the forums are quite a bit.... detached perhaps? Too strong of a word? dunno... i supposed it's only natural to have less activity in here, lately the website has been pretty much "The Dreadful" and everything else big is happening off site, and certainly off forum...

Not that there is any blame to that, it's just... a fact i guess?

Also, older members are moving on, or real life is catching up. Which is also just a fact cause there is a lot of younger fellas here who are actually pretty cool people.

I guess you can say that the fanbase of Nuklearpower is renewing itself like it happens it pretty much any virtual community, but now we don't really need to exist focused on Nuklear Forums to be in touch with the latest of Brian, Scott and Zack's work. Actually it's not like there is any extra material here that we can't get more of somewhere else. Hell, usually Brian would post like, twice a week? more? Now it's a post a month. There were columms, mail bag, speculation, even fan feedback. All that has moved on to other (and in most cases, big and better) stuff.

the RP and games sub forum still is the Big Lung that keeps quite a few people around... as far as i can recall it's been like that for a LONG time... and as it was said here, it's there, it works, and a lot of us don't even know it.

The community here has always been fine in my eyes, even if i sometimes (a lot of times? Come on, some of you wanna say it...) put my foot in my mouth and don't get along perfectly fine with someone here or there... it's still the best Forum community i've ever seen online.

Why are we having a "Wow it's quiet here thread" that ends up being super active.

How about we just remember that general forum has totally relaxed posting guidelines and just be casual with each other? Like, nobody here actively dislikes anyone else. Somebody make another thread soon about something chill and fun.

I would say that any leavings and whatnot aside from simply having no more time for internet forum shenanigans for a website that now caters to a less well known webcomic than it used to, many of them were simply the result of people getting older and therefore developing opinions or attempting to establish a point of view- when we were younger we mostly used our peers as a judge of what was acceptable and okay to do, and our views were mostly fluid. But as we've grown up, spent time learning and absorbing our surroundings, we then try and build a 'theory' of what we believe and how we think we should act, and are less interested in how others think we should think and how we should act, emboldened by time.

So now, a lot of forumites are old enough to want to talk about controversial things, and furthermore state and then defend their own opinion on the matter. In a similar vein, others feel that they can say something, anything, and expect either solidarity or that their words will stand unopposed or indomitable.

So people leaving in a huff or deciding that this forum was against them or something was inevitable.

I'd say the real thing that needs to happen is that we need to liven this place up a little!

• Too many posts being made by the same people in the same forums, making the forums a snore fest for the casual reader!
• Have any of you seen a "HIKYM" ad on a website anywhere?
• We have only two RP's ever at one time!
• The last refreshing General Discussion was about soda bottles! (see what I did there?)
• The Steam Group is often more lively than the forums at times!
• The Crowd Favorites works a bit too much like a Facebook/LolCats/AmusementBlog!
• Who has been greeting the new joiners to the forum lately? (no one!)
• Why is the main forumer get together only Team Fortress and Shyria's movies! And why did no one watch Lyrical Nanoha with Robin? (sorry man, I had 3 hour assignment!)

I say that we just need to shake things up! Get some new blood!

IDEAS:

• FRESH Blood: We should look for ways to entice newcomers! Another webcomic? Diversify the forums? Make something else to draw people who like vidjamagames, literature, comic books, and RPG's together?
• Purge and Merge: Crowd Favorites and General are no longer the hotmesses of activity they once were! Save archives of the old, clear them out, and then merge the two back together!
• Wider Reaching Content: If we have an RP section, it should not just be Games played and Games talking about games being played! We need more links, casual and implicit, to Roleplaying! Do people play MMORPGs in character? What of this Pathfinder thing? Should we establish a Character Sheet thread for posting current builds and raising interests for starting new games?
• Incorporate more of external NPF activities in the main NPF: Add links to the Steam NPFU to the forum 'site, maybe show a ticker of who's online, what's being played, videos of gameplay, active logs of NPF Chat, maybe give Shy and other streamers a page that has their stuff embedded?
• Display NPF user's submitted art/works on another sidebar, or a preview next to the their thread?
• We need a "fuck adulthood" thread which needs to be like "my life is ordinary" or "fuck my life" type blogs where we all post recent experiences in the increasingly relevant subject of nerdy adulthood.
• Newcomers need to be paraded in front of NPF society so that we may pelt them with rotten fruit and bathe in their virgin blood! Err, get to know them.
• Disperse the "Catchall" threads, they make the forum seem smaller- Expose more ideas to the open air and to open eyes!
• We have people who have branched out to other communities...can we not see if we can bring people and at least their ideas back here? Long before we had dorkly, we did have several threads asking hypothetical questions about "What videogame characters wouldnt say.
• Could we finally ever get around to a decent collaboration? Starky vs CT is the only time I remember any forumites working together to make a finished product! Curse our apathy...meh, I'll do it later.
• As we get older, the chance of us all meeting someplace increases by how many of us have gotten cars/jobs by now.

NPF members getting together to do or make something has a...a rocky history here to say the least, but clearly the thing needed here is that someone has to put in the time and effort to give back to the forum that's treated us well all these years, and since we're all that's left, that's us!

...If all else fails we promise free cake and blow jobs on the front page and load all forum pages, threads, and forumite signatures with google buzzwords and attempt to garner more activity the cheaty way and/or make a tidy ad-sense profit.

Yeah, we're doin' fine down here. Discussion threads have pretty much died since every RP started using Edupad to chat, but a good few RPs are still going strong. We RPers are pretty much all in contact with one another in some form whenever we're online.

Also I'd like to second everything Pyros said, 'cus that was a pretty awesome speech right there.
