I think all this talk of Finns and filthy laplanders is distracting us from the main issue at hand: While Shiney and Meister may have legitimate problems with Fifthfiend's approach towards moderating, to deal with the issue in the way they did was definitely lacking in tact and etiquette. Whether demotion was justified or not I can't say until more information comes through, but regardless of how these dramatics wrap up I certainly hope Fifth chooses to remain on the forum and keep posting.

However, putting aside the unfortunately messy way such events had to transpire, I have to say I think many members will view this as a more welcoming and comfortable environment with Fifth no longer in an administrative position. Many of us have opinions which clash with those of Fifth, I'm unironically fond of the actor Nic Cage, Krylo has a deep and well documented love of "nigger-cracks," so on and so forth. Yet we constantly fear bringing up these beliefs of ours because we know that Fifth is going to shit all over us and make us feel unwanted here. I mean, the way he discusses the matter with Krylo is a phenomenally condescending summation of pro-nigger-cracker's beliefs. To suggest that his motivation is so shallow and childish is really pretty dickish.

That's why nobody ever wants to speak to the mods, because the mods are worse than the users. Ever heard the phrase, "Power corrupts. Absolute power, corrupts absolutely."? If you are afraid to have your say heard, if you are afraid to have a differing opinion to a moderator and get subsequently banned, then you are VOTING for a DICTATORSHIP! You are wilfully forgoing your rights to freedom.

I can only hope that with Fifth no longer on the administrative team, this won't be so prominent an issue any longer. Again, no offense intended to Fifth, his presence as a member is something I'm sure we all consider invaluable. I mean, Deadpool cookies. Jesus. I hope we won't have to miss out on that kind of thing in the future.
