UPS = Uninterupted power supply???

I don't know how the hell you would have that hooked up via USB though, USB doesn't have sufficient capacity to do that..

Although next USB three standard will do which is going to be awesome.

That's correct but, I like what everyone else says about my PC more. It went like this:

1. Connect UPS to charge battery during the night.
2. Next morning: Connect the things that will use the UPS.
3. A couple days after, connect USB cable to PC, monitoring software will follow that...ORWILLIT?
4. Windows downloads the driver, begins installing it, finishes installing it.
5. A couple seconds after that, the UPS fan kicks in.
6. Smoke, short circuit-y sounds and lighting effects happen.
7. I freak the fuck out and unplug everything ASAP.
8. The UPS is no longer in my room in case it wants to go asplodey or something.

Oddly enough, the UPS was still working...besides the sort circuit-y special effects. Nothing that was plugged got turned off or died in the process so, I have no idea of what happened.

Fun fact, this is the seconds time it happens, same UPS model, different PC. I'll just get a fancy one now.

What saddens me the most is that I've been using this (local) brand for 6~ years, it had served me well and, I was quite happy with their products.

Is your UPS old or is this a new unit you've recently acquired?

Did you contact the manufacture yet? It sounds like you may have bought a faulty UPS.

2 of them so far :P...and they seem to have died in the same way too...

I'll just go with the safe route, return this one and get one that has a lot of recommendations and good reviews online
